Everyone disconnecting past few weeks not coincidence

After spending a half hour on here reading different threads I have come to the conclusion that comcast must've changed something 2-3 weeks ago nationwide. I'm in colorado, but have seen illinois, new jersey, etc.. complaining about constant disconnects with different docsis 3 modems especially cisco dpc 3008 and motorola 6120 and 6121.

I have had 6121 for 4 months now and never had issues until a couple weeks ago. I had a new line ran to my house originally and only one splitter with modem and one tv attached. A tech came out and said my line was great and said must be the modem so swapped for cisco which is a little better but still drops connections. The speeds were slower with cisco though so I have now gone back to Motorola 6121. When using day trading software or anything bandwidth intensive this problem is way worse and almost always disconnects. As a trader I really can only afford to this go on another week before I need to switch to a slower but lesss problematic provider. This really sucks I love comcast speeds but this is getting rediculous. Here are links to my log and status

 Please help! Thanks everyone

We have been having the same issues on our home connection! I don't understand what's going on. It goes in and out constantly.

Switched back to dpc 3008 because it disconnects less  frequently than my SB6121 but still disconnects almost once an hour. I have a tech coming for second time in a week on thursday. Heres the latest modem status.

Re: Everyone disconnecting past few weeks not coincidence

I too have been experiencing some poor connectivity in the last week or two. First, it's way slower than usual, and second, it frequently drop connections, which it definitely never did before. Tonight, I even had to bust out my mifi cause my connection was dropping every few minutes, making it near impossible for me to do my remote work.

All internet connection problems have very similar symptoms. As a customer you'll see slow speeds or dropped connections -- which is how all internet/connection problems are manifested. Unless you are on the very same node (your neighborhood connection to Comcast) as someone else, you probably don't have the exact problem as another poster. The majority of problems are local to the user. There are problems that can cause regional issues, but those are rare. Also, keep in mind that very few people come to these forums to talk about their stable and fast connection.

There appears to be some problems with the balancing of some of the bonded downstream carriers. Point this out to the tech.

Re: Everyone disconnecting past few weeks not coincidence

I understandwhat you're saying nerdburg and that there are multiple reasons for similar symptoms. The coincidence is that many people started experiencing the same problems at the same time from many different areas. If you look on dsl reports there are many people with the cisco and motorola modems that all started having problems around the 12th of May. So today everything looks great(from what I can tell)

That's the problem. If it looks like that when they come out they just assume it's the modem and swap it. Then eventually it goes back to worse results. I guess we will find out tomorrow. Thank You nerdberg and eg for your responses I will bring that up to technician.

Re: Everyone disconnecting past few weeks not coincidence

So now they sent a line tech saturday. I have 4 channels dropping off when the connection drops. He said he thinks it's an amplifier for on a pole somewhere. He also said I am only only one on block with docsis 3 so I am only one disconnecting from it locking in one of the channels. Basically told me it would take a while to find out which amp is causing problem. This is really frustrating. I'm pretty sure I'm a low priority here. If I get faster than 1.5 with anopther carrier I'd already be gone. It's been 3 weeks now
