Since yesterday my broadband speeds are jumping all over the place. From normal to very, very, very low. I can't even play my online game as the stream speeds jump so much and so often. The last speed test I did on the comcast web site got me 3 Mbps down and .6 Mbps up. I'm wired in and nothing has changed on my computer for weeks. Also, I have the highest comcast home cable plan. I usually get 30Mbps down and 5-6Mbps up.
Please fix whatever you did since yesterday!

Here's my ShaperProbe results:

"Upstream: Measurement aborted due to high packet loss rate." That's bad!

vspin,
You're not alone. I'm having the same issue since this morning. My download speed has dropped to under 1Mbps!!! Something has definitely gone wrong at Comcast.
Here are the results to my internet speed test: http://results.speedtest.comcast.net/result/115615

Yikes! Good luck to you.

A tech is supposed to come out tomorrow. One thing to note for people that have techs come out, comcast charges you about $50 if they can prove it's your fault, your router, etc., unless you have this special $3 a month plan.
Also, remember the day you had the issue, because if it's on their end you can ask for them to credit you the days it was not working.

A Comcast guy came out today. He was very polite and did everything he could, but could not solve the issue, so he is having a network guy come out tomorrow to condition the lines. Sure hope that does it, or else I have to drop my internet with Comcast. ![]()

My ping on speedtest.net has been 1000+ all day long. Download speeds are around .25mbps and upload is .05 if I'm lucky. This is terrible... Most pages I try to open don't even work. I'm surprised I was able to make it to this forum

That sucks ltpigtails.
Today they did what they were going to do with my lines, and still I have the same issue. They said to call and have them come out again if the problem persists. I called and another guy is supposed to come out tomorrow.

Well, it looks like my connection is now working again. I am going to cancel my appointment. It upsets me that I will never know why my connection is now working, so when it happens again, I'll go through the long process once more.
By the way, I recommend the software MyConnection PC Lite Edition. It showed that my connection could not maintain a steady stream of data. My bandwidth would spike to 0 every few seconds for both down and up stream.

Yay! I'm having the same issues again. Looks like I have to go through the whole deal again. Can't play games or get decent phone service.
Again, I recommend this software:

Heres's what my upstream looks like:
http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7061/6914842393_888f
It shows my down and upstream spiking down to zero, and sometimes for a few seconds. Not great for games. ![]()

An hour after posting my reply above, my Internet disconnected completely for about 40 min and then came back online, and now everything seems to be working again.
