I did a search for ipv6 modems & ipv6 emta & got no hits.
My ARRIS TM 602G is not listed as ipv6 capable in at the mydeviceinfo site; at least it didn't have a check mark on the ipv6 column.
If Comcast is rolling out ipv6 then there should also be a rollout of modems & eMTAs; did see something about problems with the Netgear tho.
Are the users supposed to contact Comcast for new modems/eMTAs that have ipv6 capabilities? It appears that Comcast is going full bore with ipv6 & without a modem capable to do ipv6......
Asking because I haven't seen anything about new eMTAs or could we just limp along thru the Comcast tunneling efforts or something?

Modems that are DOCSIS 3 capable should also be IPv6 ready out of the box or with an updated firmware push from Comcast.

Does this mean that those without DOCSIS 3 modems can still continue to do ipv4 indefinitely?
I don't need the extra speed capability of the DOCSIS 3; however, should I just call to have my eMTA swapped out for a DOCSIS 3 to be able to use ip6?
Is Comcast expecting all subscribers to do ip6 & the "migration" would be like going from analog TV to digital?

IPv4 is not going away anytime soon.
IPv4 and IPv6 will coexist side by side for a very long time.
Check back in 10 years to see if anything has changed.

Agreed with Murphy. All this talk about IPv6 readiness is making people panic needlessly. It will be some time before this happens..
