Every night for the past 2 weeks: http://imgur.com/F1F1s
I've had a technician visit my site and say everything on my end is working fine and that the problem is somewhere else. That was a few days ago and the problem persists.
06-09-2012 09:13 PM
Any ideas? Happens every night from 6-12pm. Sometimes starts as late as 7pm or ends as early as 11pm. All other times of the day I have below 50ms ping.
06-09-2012 11:14 PM
Me too Its been happening for about 5-7 days now. Always starts around 6-9pm CST
Here are my modem logs:
Any ideas:

I've had this issue for the past 2 weeks now. It will go to trash for a few hours a day, last week, it would be perfect during the day and around 7pm till about 3am it would go to trash and couldn't even load a search from google.com. This week its working from 11pm till about 7am, then it goes to trash and is unusable all day. I called comcast this evening and was told they are repairing an fiber optic cable, when I called the week before that when the problem started I was told the same exact thing. It constantly spikes, and doesn't have a steady ping during certains of the day, and those times seem to be random now.
06-10-2012 09:14 PM
I think it is called - "school is out" for the summer... happens every summer since I have had comcast...
06-10-2012 09:29 PM
Well then maybe Comcast should upgrade there system to handle it. There is no reason for this in 2012.
06-10-2012 10:03 PM
Right, school is out. Yet my friend 2 miles down the road in the same neighborhood with *competitors cable company* has no problems. Basically he can continue to game while I just have to wait it out every night for hours. Gettingoldbro.

Oh and tonight it started at 4pm... so my connection with be garbage for 8 hours this wonderfull Sunday evening.

Tracroute?
Windows 7, Vista or XP:
Click Start->Run and type cmd and press Enter. This will open a black DOS window. When open, type tracert www.comcast.net and hit enter. When it is finished, you will see a "Trace complete" message.
Mac OSX users:
Open the Applications->Utilities->Network Utility and select the Traceroute tab. Enter an address such as www.comcast.net and start the trace. When completed, copy and paste the results to your forum post using normal copy and paste methods.

Possible local capacity / congestion issue.

Find it weird how yesterday I had zero lag, today was running fine, 2pm hits and bam lag spikes like crazy can't even stay connected for more than 2 seconds on world of warcraft. latency jumps from 70 to 2600 every few seconds and spikes hard till I dc. Please upgrade the servers give a powerboost or something, this is becoming annoying.

That has nothing to do with Comcast and everything to do with Blizzard.

Then why is my browser beyond slow? Google takes forever to load when I search something. I'm just saying comcast keeps saying its a fiber optic cable, and its been 3 weeks, Its like this for a couple hours every single day. Its also happening on other games that aren't on blizzard servers. League of legends, counter strike source, battle field 3, also causes ventrlo, and skype to randomly disconnect and or lag.

Ok so I found out last night when my internet became really really slow, that my bandwidth dropped to a really really slow speed, and was like that for about 6 hours then around 2am my bandwidth speed went back up and my internet speed increased, any self fixes that can be offered to help with this issue please? I'm currently on a Linksys CM100 Cable modem, because I've switched out modems trying to fix this issue that has been going on for weeks now.

@zerth your downstream power is at the limit... sounds like you need them(comcast) to adjust it a bit closer to zero
07-25-2012 09:47 PM
This is exactly the same thing that has been happening to me. I tried to cancel my service but the lady begged me to have another tech come out and see if they can fix my problem. It's exactly as the op's pingplotter looks like, low pings for about a minute then 5000ms.. Comcast seems only to care if you're "online", which is literally what the first tech said.
Going to give them another week to address this, then i'll have to go back to the dreaded AT&T uverse. A 100ms speed that's steady is much better than a 23ms to 2300ms rollercoaster.

Can anyone please explain what's going on with my connection here?
