Currently while I'm on the Performance level plan that I was told should get around 12 mbps my download speed rarely rises above 1.8 mbps and frequently sits around 1.5 mbps.
I've converesed with Tech support on 4 different occasions and had two techs come out (They replaced my RCA modem) but nothing has changed. According to speed tests I have a 24-25 mbps burst download, but have never seen my speed burst above 2 mbps.
Ive been told there's absolutely nothing wrong with my connection by the techs with no packet loss or any other connectivity issues when either connected directly via modem or through a router.
At this point it seems that I've exhausted all of the options tech support has provided so I've come here seeing if I can find an alternate fix.
Any and all help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

You could try calling in to confirm that the correct configuration file for the Performance tier is loaded in to the modem. It sounds like they possibly pushed an incorrect file for the Economy tier to it ?

I would suggest sign up for the blast service at a lower cost for the trial than you are paying for performance and see what your speed is with that. Also is this a wireless speed with a router or are you directly connected to your modem via ethernet? Are you renting the modem from Comcast? I hope not.

The first tech that came said some files for my modem where wrong and apparently "corrected" them and said give it twenty minutes and it should work...It didn't. I suppose I could call support again and mention this possibility.
Sadly this is part of a triple pack so blast isn't really an option.
I run it via cable to a router for my main computer but connecting directly to the modem doesn't make any difference sadly.
I wouldn't say renting as I don't pay for it but yes the modem was provided by comcast the router is my own.

"Apparently" is the operative word here. Many premises techs are not exactly rocket scientists... ![]()
