Modem compatibility

I have a Motorola SBG900 Wireless Surfboard Gateway modem. Am I able to receive the new Blast upgrade to 25 Mbps with it?

Re: Modem compatibility

Hello,

Based on the following link I don't see it as a comcast compatiable gateway but the list could be old.

Re: Modem compatibility

Blast in many areas is going to 50Mbps. You would need to upgrade to a DOCSIS 3 modem to see those speeds. Even in areas that have not been fully upgraded, Comcast recommends a DOCSIS 3 modem for Blast.

It is indeed listed as being EOL (End Of Life), but that doesn't mean it won't function at all on their network. It will work for now but as nerdberg indicates, it is not optimal for the Blast speed tier, and will not at all deliver 50 Mbps down. It's very easy to post links to stuff but where CC is concerned, unfortunately one has to always read between the lines.

And to my experience, this is one "list" that the have been quite current with...
