What speeds should I be getting with a performance tier service?

Re: Performance tier speeds

Hard to say right now, Comcast are in the middle of upgrading Performance. Could be be 15/2 rising to 25/4 with Powerboost. Or 20/4 with no Powerboost.

Download and run this tool:

Please post the results.

Re: Performance tier speeds

I have Performance with PowerBoost. Please explain Burst size and Shaping rate.

DiffProbe release. January 2012. Build 1008.
Shaper Detection Module.

Connected to server 38.98.51.17.

Estimating capacity:
Upstream: 3477 Kbps.
Downstream: 25527 Kbps.

The measurement will take upto 2.5 minutes. Please wait.

Checking for traffic shapers:

Upstream: Burst size: 4931-4981 KB;
Shaping rate: 2053 Kbps.

Downstream: Burst size: 5099-5508 KB;
Shaping rate: 20272 Kbps.

Re: Performance tier speeds

The shaping rate is the sustained speeds after the Powerboost short lived speed burst expires / wears off. The estimated capacity is the Powerboost assisted speeds. The burst size is basically the size of the file (packet train) used to differentiate between these two properties. You have around 20/2 sustained and around 25/4 Powerboost speeds.
