My connection is constanty up and down as well. Comcast has replaced my cable from the house to the pole, and from the house connection point to my modem. I am still having issue. The issue started for me on January 19, 2012 at about 1:50 pm CST. I have another tech coming to my house tomorrow.
They told me the other day they found a bad "node" and replaced some equipment in my neighborhood, but I am still having issues with my internet dropping and then restarting. This is FRUSTRATING because I work from home and when the internet goes down, so does my VPN connection and connections to my applications. If I am copying a large file to the network that also stops and I have to restart it.
VERY FRUSTRATING
Signed, Lynn

What do the modem's signal stats look like ? Try getting them here; http://192.168.100.1
Please post the *Downstream Power Level*, the *Upstream Power Level*, and the *SNR* (Signal to Noise Ratio) numbers.
