Remote connection from outside world

[ Edited ]

Since Comcast only has dynamic addresses (except for the Business service), does anyone know if you can connect to your computer from the outside world.  What I am looking for, is a way to get to my computer when I am traveling.  I need to either login or a remote desktop type of connection. Can I use both a PC or a Mac OS X connection?

Also, how do find your Comcast's computer name - so you can find it on the Internet? I am using a router connected to my Comcast modem....

thanks,

Ed

You want a free dynamic dns service. Check Google or try no-ip.com, dyndns.com, or many others. Many routers have built in support for some of these services.
