I just got comcast internet this morning and now I can't get to yahoo on this computer. I can get there on a computer still hooked up to ATT DSL. Does Comcast not allow users to get to Yahoo???????????????
I will not be keeping Comcast if this problem is not fixed.
For moninauhig4703, what is tracert? How can I use it? Where did u get it?
Thanks,

I had the same problem after moving my account to a new location. Could not connect to any Yahoo sites with firefox. Then tried IE and it defaulted to the comcast search page which linked to Yahoo and it connected. After that it also connected in Firefox. I made no changes. Seems like Comcast wants to route you there and maybe add a tracking cookie .... very suspicious.

OP. You are making it out of the CC network. Have you contacted Yahoo or the level 3 transit provider ?

It's not a DNS issue. The domain name is resolving in to a numerical IP address in their trace.

May still want to try different DNS provider .
Try this http://98.139.144.130/ to get to www.yahoo.com
72.30.38.140 resolves to http://failsafe.fp.yahoo.com/404.html

Why would you try another DNS provider?

Level 3 circut issue . Fixed .
Takes note of prior posts .
Question could using a proxy server have gone around the problem ?

If the route taken using the proxy server bypassed the break in the original path, then sure.
