I just got my first bill from Comcast after having triple play installed, and find that I'm being charged $7 extra a month for internet modem rental and $7 extra for "voice" modem lease. I found the list about "approved" modems for the internet, but I can't find one for phone modems. I already have wireless internet set up in my house. Can anyone tell me what a phone modem is and where is the approved list?

There is only one customer-owned telephony modem (eMTA) approved by Comcast and that is an Arris TM722G purchased from Best Buy with a Comcast Connection Center. The unit does both internet and telephone service. The customer-owned eMTA program is not available in all areas. Do not buy any other eMTA from any other store, Comcast will not provision it.
