tech support charges

I just discovered after re installing a comcast modem that I now also need to subscribe for a wireless connectivity support option.  I am puzzled.  I pay for the modem monthly yet I have to pay additional to get help with it??

Re: tech support charges

If you provide the brand and model number of the device and describe what you are trying to do with it, we'll try to help.

Re: tech support charges

You do not have to subscribe to anything else. I suspect Xfinity SIgnature Support is what you were told you "need" to subscribe to. If you do subscribe there will be an extra charge on your bill each month for Signature Support. The cost depends on the level of support you subscribe to. If you subscribe and use it you will not talk to Comcast. The service is contracted out to a 3rd party.

You would have to allow them remote access to your computer. That is something I would never allow anyone to do.

Ignore what you were told. If you have wireless issues the connection experts here in the forum would be happy to help you.

If you rent the modem from Comcast and it is a gateway (modem/wireless combo) Comcast should provide support for their product.

Re: tech support charges

That's the issue. My modem states Comcast is fine.. But if I need additional support, seek it elsewhere
