I have Comcast accounts in two homes - in California and Michigan. The Michigan account has tv and internet, California only tv. Will my Michigan cable modem be recognized as valid in California? I guess the question boils down to: Is the modem mac address in a Comcast national data base?
Thanks for any insights forum folks can provide.

I think people have written that it might work to move a modem to a home connected to the same headend. But it's extremely unlikely that it would work going to a different headend, let alone a totally different state.

Thanks - I assumed that that was the case. But it couldn't hurt to ask.
I have an extra cable modem. I guess that I'll take it to California and sign up for internet service, then cancel. And then do it all over again. ![]()

if you go back and forth each year, you could call Comcast and ask about snowbird service.
