Well, I just spent 45 minutes on the phone with a decent rep. They've re-applied my original promotion due to all the frustration I've had with them, so finally my bill should be normal. 109.99 for 12 months for basic cable, phone, and internet.
05-06-2012 09:56 AM
See, that is what I mean. What do you mean by "my bill should be normal" when its on a promotion? After the promo it will then be normal. I don't understand that, should I be trying to get a promotional rate even though I already had one? Also is that for the Digital Starter tv or Digital Preferred? Cause their basic tv is about 20-25 channels and if that is what you have it should not be that much (especially if its on a promotion).
05-06-2012 12:31 PM
This is what I found at Verizon-
Over 205+ channels of the best in movies, sports, music, specialty and family programming.
Surf, shop and email for a great value—includes 9 email accounts (everyone in the family can have their own).
Talk as long as you want and enjoy loads of super convenient calling features—unlimited local, regional & nationwide calling.
05-06-2012 01:18 PM
I still have another 5 months left on my old promotion. They don't care about that, they try to sneak in raises to your bill without notification. This has happened 3 times. They raise my bill almost every month.
05-06-2012 09:28 PM
Question on the DirecTv promotion you are talking about. $74.99 a month for all 3 services sounds very good. Just a couple of questions. Did you need to do rebates to get this price. And if so how many rebates where there to fill out and how long did it take to apply to your monthly bill. And also what is the price of the package after 12 months are up, what does the price go to the second year? Thanks for the information.
05-07-2012 11:40 AM
I havent done this yet I was doing researching it so if I had to switch I had it lined up. Yes it says after rebates you can go to Century Link and look at their bundles and it will show you. They seem to show different bundles depending on how you look them up. If you do a search on cable triple play bundles instead of just Centry link thats how I found that one.

I called comcast and got the agree to the 2yrs and it goes up $15 but I cant agree to the 2yrs since I dont know if I have to move and where I am moving comcast doesnt provide service so I cant take them with me so I was going to ask for 1 yr. Tried to call back in to the person I was talking to and was transfered to their ext the phone rang for 3-4 minutes some guy picked it up I told him the ext I was wanting then I got transfered somehow to Oregan to a Dept I wasnt suppose to be at but a really nice lady told her my troubles about my bill and all the times I have tried to call in and been on hold at work and had to hang up and I couldnt take it anymore so she tried to transfer me to the escalation dept but couldnt so I ended up calling and leaving a msg for Jane Bain and then again tried to call that other person back at that ext and they went home. So Lacey ended helping me only get 6 months and paying 5 or $6 more a month and less speed on my internet. Lacey did help some and was very very nice but in 6 months I have to go thru all of this again and this is horrible to go thru. you know in the very begining when I was approached about triple play I asked the lady on the phone when the promotion was up what would my bill be,,,,and she would never come out and tell me just would say oh well if it does it would be hardly anything. Um 40.00 a month thats 480.00 a year ISNT HARDLY ANYTHING (MY EYE). Thats a car payment -a health insurance payment-ect. Yes I do think I need to talk to the escalation dept
05-07-2012 09:56 PM
Comcast does NOTHING for it exciting customers. All the offers go to new customers .....so they have you by you a...! I wish we had someone else to pick from in my area. Comcast just screws the good long time customers.
05-20-2012 09:02 PM
Larry is full of it. I called to see what could be done to lower my bill with few results. When I asked to cancel the service, they would not grant that request. They went off in several other directions.Rather than argue the point I hung up.I think they'll get the idea when I don't pay the bill.
05-20-2012 09:45 PM
Comcast treats the NEW CUSTOMERS well BUT does give a dam about the exciting customers. They do not give good customer service when you call them!
05-20-2012 09:53 PM
Angered- Technically you can cancel. Unsure how they can tell you otherwise. Write them a letter for request for cancellation so you are not nailed with Bill Collectors. At least keep your good credit in good standings when you move on to a BETTER and MORE CONSUMER APPRECIATIVE SERVICE.
05-21-2012 10:44 PM
I agree with you. I actually recently updgraded because I am almost done with grad school but I have been been with issues left and right such as:
1) being signed up for the wrong service package.
2) getting charged for modem when I have had my modem before the upgrade
3) charged an installation fee for internet that is already running.
4) had to spend 1 hour on the phone try to resolve issues above and
5) spent 2 hours on web chat to resolve service package error.
Plus my internet intermittently going off and on. Where is the Love?
By the way the SD quality is horrendous. Why is it that the local HD channels are include in the HD package for an extra fee when once could technically get a digital receiver and get the HD for the local stations?
05-22-2012 01:32 PM
I am a Currant customer and am looking everywhere on line to see what I pay for what? It seems that Comcast does not want us to know what each item cost. I know I am paying way to much as we live on S/S and can't afford to continue but when I call I can't get the same deal as a new customer it just don't seem right
05-22-2012 07:04 PM
I auto switch back and forth b/w FIOS and Comcast every two years. I've been with Comcast since Aug. 2010. 2 yr deal ends this Aug. Auto switch back to Verizon then. lol. I have no loyalty. I simply don't care. Put the remotes, set tops and modem in a box, slap a sticker on them and mail them in. Variety is the spice of life.
05-24-2012 01:27 AM
Comcast is horrible for current customer.. Too much charge and cost is pennies....
That's how these big companies merge and eventually---- cost more to customer.
No deals for current customer.... It is just ripoff for sure
05-24-2012 01:44 PM
Wow ,all this time I been pretending I was the only Comcast customer with problems . talk about loyalty ?
I've been a customer since 1991 except for one year when I experimented with satellite. All this time my rates are soaring higher and higher and service is starting to suck more and more. I can't go back to satellite because my Mrs. is not comfortable with the "new" technology she actually insists on a TV guide to read onscreen. We very seldom get pro-rated bills to account for the tons of power outtages now occurring daily.
STOP Stealing Money From Customers you did not EARN Comcast!!!!!
05-24-2012 04:27 PM
I just spent hours on a chat line and on the phone with comcast regarding the increase in my bill. the guy on the chat line gave me a number and told me to ask for the loyalty department. Low and behold, there is not loyalty department. so comcast has employees misrepresenting the company. The only thing they could offer a loyal customer of 20 years was a package with only 13 channels...I might as well go back to an antenna. So much for loyalty...direct tv here we come.
05-24-2012 08:45 PM
This is terrible..I think Comcast should be reported to the Better Business Bureau.
05-24-2012 11:34 PM
I had cable & internet through AT&T when Comcast took over southern Indiana. I went with Triple Play when it was offered. I was given free DVR for two years & HBO for one. When I moved almost 3 years ago, they renewed the same promotion. On 06/01/2012, that promotion will end but, to keep me from Dish Network, they removed HD charges for one year, free DVR & Cinamax for 6 months. Call about any promotions for present customers.

I just got hung up on. Slow internet - huge bill - zero customer service
05-25-2012 10:25 AM
It very simple, Comcast puts 100% of their advertising and promotions into getting new customers. Existing customers are taken for granted, and they feel if we lose a customer our promotions will continue to get new customers. Sooner or later that theory will no longer play out. New customers who do their research will go onto a forum like this and see what comcast does to their customers once they rope them in. Comcast rates are very high and we the customer have to decide if it is worth it. Things aren't going to change unless someone is put in charge that can see how many customers they are losing due to ignoring their existing customers. If you stop and think about it, it's a pretty stupid way of doing business, letting your customers walk away without ever putting up a fight???
05-31-2012 08:10 PM
Does anyone have high speed internet alone, without T.V. and phone service? If so what is the monthly cost?
I know the cost of internet service alone is more then if it was bundled, just want to know how much more.
05-31-2012 08:15 PM
Pricing varies in different areas of the country. To get the correct price for your own area, I would suggest calling 1-800 comcast and ask them. I can tell you it is at least $10 a month more though.

Bedford, IN 47421, Can you get my bundle "Triple Play" down below $124.99? That's the cost now before taxes & fees.
06-03-2012 07:33 PM
The only time I can get a discount is when I switch to WOW or threaten to switch. Wish it didn't have to be that way.
06-03-2012 07:45 PM
I'm with you on that. Larry should run for congress with an answer like that.
06-03-2012 07:49 PM
Ha ha ha...just got my new bill and it's up another $26.02. I seen this monopoly coming when the gov't decided to shut down the analog signal...forcing everyone to get digital. Now they can charge whatever they want and when we complain about it, it's like the operator isn't there. Now my bill is $170, last month ended the $144 for the yr I was paying. The yr before that it was $126 and I never changed a thing. Thanx Comcast...I will "play" the game again tomorrow to see if I can get it lowered but that will be a fight. Been a loyal, on-time paying customer for over 16 yrs and these folks have made alot of money off me...but that's about to change. The other strategy Comcast used was to move the majority of the kids channels into the upper digital area...forcing parents to get upgrades or else listen to the kids complain. Well, guess my kids will finally be complaining. Comcast...you should be ashamed!
06-05-2012 05:41 PM
What a bunch of %&^(* morrons at comcast. I've had enough of the horrible service....What's amazing is that this is there site and they would not dare step foot in a tank of angry sharks.... that's sad
06-05-2012 07:59 PM
The worst part of it is the area I live in.My only options for internet&phone are comcast or at&t.One is as big a pirate as the other.
06-06-2012 05:43 AM - edited 06-06-2012 05:47 AM
To begin, I'm in Bedford, IN 47421. On my present promotion, the first year my Triple Play Bundle before taxes & fees, was $109.99. On 06/01/2012, it went to $124.99. I first left a message with Xfinity on Facebook. Then, I called Customer Loyalty & told the person that I'm on Social Security, live at a HUD approved apartment complex (which is true), & that I may be able to keep Digital Voice & Internet with Comcast but, I'm going to have to go with the Top 100 package on Dish Network because I can't handle the increase. This guy cut $15 worth of stuff off my bill so, what I paid in May, I will pay in July & for one year. The next day, I got a call from Customer Support, from PA in reply to my Facbook message. Comcast took over the rest of Indiana south of Monroe County to the Ohio River, from Insight a few years ago.
06-07-2012 02:01 PM
Well I just got off the phone with Comcast because I see the New Customer price was 70.00 less then what I am paying. I mentioned I have been a customer for years and if there was anything they can do. There response was basically " No you afer SOL". Looks like I will have to go to Verizon. The only thing I did not like about verizon was they need 8 hours to do a new install. I hope I am wrong.
06-07-2012 04:32 PM
I went through the same episode. My phone is now magic jack and seems to work fine.It has received bad revues, probably from comcast reps.I'm going to direct tv and they partner with comcast. With their package I get internet for $20 a month.I figure another 2 years down the road,I change again. There is no incentive to be loyal to any provider.
06-07-2012 04:34 PM
Want to hear a good one in the context I used it the word bull was censored.
06-07-2012 06:01 PM
Have been calling and chatting with them since yesterday trying to lower my comcast bill. I'm being passed around sales dept, bill dept then chat and phone keeps passing me around too. Chat tells me to call, phone tells me to go online. Was told I could lower my phone/internet bundle to 19.99 each for 6 months but was told to do it online. Online I was told they had no control over the pricing so I should call. Being passed around like this and still my bill is no lower than it was. Now they're telling me to downgrade my service or discontinue it.
06-09-2012 09:14 AM
Also tried to get my internet lowered. Paying $70+ for internet in a Comcast only community. Told the same drop service level or disconnect. Existing customer offer none.
06-12-2012 09:28 PM
In one month my bill went from 130 to 167. I called and cut one of the premium channels and was told my bill would be 152.My next bill was over 190.
06-13-2012 08:16 AM
THIS COMPANY IS CRAZY...PUSHING THEIR CUSTOMERS RIGHT OUT THE DOOR WITH THEIR PRICING!
06-13-2012 02:14 PM
I agree with this complaint. Also, why I should I be paying for channels I don't watch? To get channels I want I aslo have to get spanish, religious, and a host of other channels. Smarten up Comcast, go ala carte; be a leader in the industry before you are out of business, I have read many articles that Comcast is one of the most hated companies in the country. No surprise there.
06-19-2012 12:41 AM
Then I guess the consensus is formed. those of you who are able .jump to the competitors those who can't,
try to wrangle reform and refunds from these buzzards As for me ,if I don't see pro-rating for when the network is down and the cessation of unearned price increases I am gone in the fall. That means no more Comcast Cable and Internet . I don't intend to pay for my OWN Obamacare , why do I need to pay for Comcast employees Obamacare?? That must be what they want unless a more plausible angle exists
06-19-2012 05:12 AM
Don't forget that when they give you a price, it does not include all the state, federal, and any other misc taxes they can find for you to pay lol!!!
06-19-2012 05:16 AM
That's great, as long as you have a major credit card and have great credit. My daughter tried to get DISH and if she puts down a $500 deposit, and gets a visa or mastercard, then she can have dish.
06-19-2012 05:22 AM
They have been reported to them, believe it or not, but for a diff reason!
06-19-2012 06:00 AM - edited 06-19-2012 06:05 AM
One of my friends told me that he had heard Comcast is getting another rate hike. It's supposedly because of the increased cost of their equipment and wage increases and etc etc etc. I have the bundle or is it called triple play, whatever, and will have to downsize because I'm already paying $241 for all that I have. It's $199.99 for everything and the rest is for all the taxes and "misc" stuff. But in order to get what I like, I have to get a bunch of channels that I don't want. Not only that but from channel 600 to 699 that's just for Spanish speaking programs, then there are about ten other channels that are also Spanish programs. Then you have Japanese channels too. It used to be that the NFL games were included, but now you have to buy the sports package. When I had the great grand kids over for spring break, I found out the hard way that I didn't have the Disney Movie channel. It's an extra 15.99 a month. But when I signed up, they told me I had all their channels, they lied. Oh well what are ya gonna do. There are only two /three options LOL..Pay and take what you can get, down size, or just leave Comcast and go with someone else. It's sad that Comcast doesn't care about it's loyal customers. Oh and no one mentioned that if you forget to make your payment by their due date, they disconnect you. You MUST keep your payments paid a month in advance or else LOL. For ten years I had been a "good girl" and was always paying before the due date, when I got sick and was in the hospital I forgot to get it paid. I had 4 days before my next payday, and they disconnected me for non payment. Sorry I went on a tangent. Everyone have a great week.....Smile, it makes people wonder what your up to LOL!!
06-19-2012 01:09 PM
GO TO DISH!! THEY GAVE ME A CREDIT DISCOUNT FOR MY LOYALTY!
06-22-2012 07:04 PM
i just found these forums ... sorry for the late reply regarding mr. germano .... i suspect you won't receive a reply - unless he likes you more than me! i wrote him a blazing complaint over a year ago! Not only did i not receive a reply but 3 months ago my rates were raised again even tho my dvr has had issues for over 2 years! I would go back to dish! i loved att!! i have no choice where i live to have comcast!! my last call to shauna edwards in account executive offices has gone unreturned for over 1-1/2 months now!! and the worst? in my account history she went in and rewrote that my complaint was the increase in my bundle pricing so now all the reps think i'm full of it regarding my broken dvr!! i've called the dpuc as well - they called comcast to help me because it isn't their jurisdiction!! yep, right back where i started! $207 per month and i don't even have any movie channels!!! i hate them. i'm sick of them. i'm disabled and this is my only form of entertainment! they have me by the 'you know whats' and they know it!!! thank you for reading my vent! and never received credit for broken email for a week! voice mail is broken too and i was told it is my brand new laptop. couldn't possibly be comcast.
06-23-2012 12:53 PM
Well, after arguing my point with a set of deaf ears at Comcast...the only deal they were willing to give me was $20 off per month for 1 year. I took it since I'm not under any obligation but I will be looking into other alternatives. Isn't it great that their LOBBYISTS convinced the gov't to discontinue the analog signal...now it is a true monopoly and we are at their mercy. Don't be surprised if this doesn't happen at the dish networks in the near future. Have a pleasent weekend.
06-23-2012 09:44 PM
Call their customer service # and find out 1st of other services in your area like dish,direct,u-verse etc, then get their promos and call Comcast retention center and let them know you can easily switch to another service and get more channels and better service and if they don't want to lose you as a customer they will more than likely match their competitors.
06-23-2012 09:53 PM
That's funny every time I call with a problem I sit on hold for 30 minutes only to wait for the most rudest employee in your staff which so far has been every time I've called, and yes they always say"sorry about your luck would you just like to cancel your service?"the worst customer service of any company I've dealt with besides the other Goliath VERSION!!!All they want is your cash once your on bored they could care less about the service you receive!!!!And that's no BULL!!!!
07-03-2012 01:47 PM
The electric company has set prices and doesnt offer people lower rates to join
07-03-2012 06:37 PM
My response to Ihenry1017:
Actually in my area there are Competing Electrical providers. Even some give Day rates and evening rates inticing folks to use there electric during lower power consumption times. So pardon if the logic no longer is
valid for your defending Comcast.
Comcast continues to BLOCK any competitor from even stepping foot in counties or areas that carry political pocket lining. They are not a POOR company trying to make ends meet. They are by far leaking money to the point of real estate investing and expansions in other areas that are irrelevant to their technology forte.
I assure you the day will come when they have seen their last check or payment from some consumers . A new technology will be upcoming and knocking them down with a thud ![]()
