Late Fees

Comcast has the ability to email prior to your acct being late, but they choose to wait so that you have to pay a late fee or/and a reconnect fee.

NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE....Can't wait until ATT is Available in my area.

Re: Late Fees

Why does comcast have to remind you to pay your bill?  You should know when its due and just pay it.

jasmo, Comcast does have the means to send you payment reminders. I hope the following information helps you in your quest to set this up. I call this one of the hidden features because most people don't know this can be done. It's not advertised as a feature-you have to stumble upon it in order to know it exists.

You have to sign up to receive the alerts.

To do so, sign in to Customer Central with the PRIMARY user account name and password.

Once Customer Central opens click the Alerts tab then  View alert preferences.

Click Edit.  Choose which one(s) you want, then SAVE.

There is one for Past Due Reminder and another for Payment Reminder.

What I don't know is if the Past Due Reminder is sent BEFORE the due date, ON the due date, or AFTER the due date. I would be interested to find out when they do send it.

You can sign up for one or both of them. You do NOT have to use your Comcast email address. I have an alert for Payment Confirmation that is sent to my msn email address. (Even though I pay my bill with cash at the local office and get a receipt the Payment Confirmation email is another layer of proof that it was paid and was posted to my account. If something happens to my receipt I have something to fall back on if needed)

IF YOU CHANGE IT (email address) you will be sent a confirmation email at the NEW address and will have to validate the new address. This must be done within 24 hours or the validation link will expire.

To change your email click Edit next to your address.

One caveat: if you want to receive a text message to your mobile phone ask yourself if you want Comcast to have that number if it is NOT the phone number associated with your account.  I personally do not want them to have my mobile number.

There is also a sticky post about this HERE, which I forgot I created. Anyone can link to it OR copy/paste the info.

Re: Late Fees

Comcast is awesome....I found on every statement it shows me the date a late payment will apply to my account if my bill is past due <hint, hint> ...check under ...News from Comcast

Also, the ability to manage my account information online is great. They created something called alerts. Check it out....

That's what I said. And I gave detailed instructions with pictures.

Rog: People have different life styles. Like jobs, income, age, and being a care giver for a spouse or family member. Or have a special need. Comcast should provide a reminder service. It would help all, some times our life style is like herding cat.
