I've had this issue for almost a year now. Comcast places a rental fee for a modem I don't have from them. I call them to correct it. I am assured it will be taken care of, then next month game starts all over again. I haven't rented a modem from comcast in about a year, but this issue keeps happening. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The Administrator has been notified. Did you get a receipt when you turned in the rented modem?

Thanks for the post, I did get a receipt when I turned it in, I can also get a copy of the receipt for the new modem I purchased from bestbuy.
Last month when I called comcast about this they told me there was an issue with the automated system that kept placing the modem rental back on my bill again and again. But that this time it would be taken care of. I am wondering what the exact problem is because everytime I speak to comcast (every phone rep I've spoken to was responsive, very professional, and seemed concerned about my problem) there is a different rationale given to me, I am wondering what the real issue is behind this.

Hold on to that receipt for the returned modem. You may need it as proof that it was returned. From what I have read in the Forums, there does seem to be a problem with Comcast checking the warehouse (or wherever) to see if a rented modem was returned. I believe they check it by serial number, etc. too.
We have also seen instances of rented modems appearing and disappearing, then reappearing on customer bills as well. So that is another problem.
I am sure it will be straightened out for you, just not as timely as it should have been.

Thank you for the post, I've notified the billing department of this issue. You will receive a call from them but if you don't hear anything back from them please let me know.
