Over or Double billing and complaints to the FCC / Class Action Lawsuits

The inability of comcast to properly bill me is astounding, for several months my bill has been incorrect and holy war broke out when I moved mid month in march after having had paid the bill in advance as required by comcast. I've spent countless hours on the phone with for several months with problem solvers that convince me all is well and now I have bill for $243.82 and continue to get hung up on by representatives, who is in charge over their, it can't be that hard. I am at wits end and will inform the FCC and any other pertinent goverment agency of the shoddy practices that are ongoing there and show them the proof through the many billing statements that do not reflect actual charges. This company has a great product but perhaps you should consider customer service and correct billing a priority as opposed to the bottom line. Just had another rep hang up on me without a solution, unbelievable. Have documented  all dates of conversations and emails with Comcast for future reference.

Re: Over or Double billing and complaints to the FCC / Class Action Lawsuits

I have had similar problems. I am so frustrated and do not enjoy being on the phone with comcast 3-4 times a week. I feel like they should be paying me. I wish someone could tell me the same thing twice. Each representative tells me something different every time. I would like to know how many DTA come with your service and how many set top box  with on demand come with my service. One said i should get 3 DTA's and one set top box with no charge. Another one told me, no you get 2 DTA's and one set top box with no charge. I had another one tell me oh no, you get one DTA and then a set top box with on demand is 9.99 extra. I just gave up my land line, bought my own modem, got rid of 2 DVR boxes and got rid of hi def. lowered my bill by about $60.00, then i get a letter in the mail saying they have audited my acct and they have not been charging me for 1 or more of my DTA's. I can't help but think that they are doing this cause i lowered my bill. Is there anywhere i can look and see in writing excatly how many DTA's and what not you are allowed before they charge you?

Re: Over or Double billing and complaints to the FCC / Class Action Lawsuits

By now thousands of good Comcast internet customers received a letter proclaiming an error was made in calculating their internet service bill.  Most of us are intelligent enough to realize this was no error.  More like this was a "sweep" by their audit department to seek and find those of us who do not subscribe to a "bundled" service.  The majority of us have always paid our bills on time, accepted the every once in a while price increase and the occasional free of charge speed increases, (power boost). Never asked for a speed increase or special rate.  Had my inetrnet service for over twenty years.  I cannot afford Comast TV. Suddenly Comcast has spoken and we must pay the price for our loyality.  Perhaps  this is  actually  a recent reaction to a Consent Decree by the FCC for Comcast's failue to provide and market a "stand alone" internet service.  Now having created the " Performance Starter" Comcast needs to recoup its fine.  I suppose they have the right to do this.  Whether this is a good business decision is left to be seen.  I don't believe so.  I will be leaving after the six month promo "sorry offer" expires.

Re: Over or Double billing and complaints to the FCC / Class Action Lawsuits

Just an update as the staff at Comcast seem to be getting more confused by the day.  Did anyone notice the "regular price for Performance Internet service just increased to $64.95?  I called to inquire about the pricing and was told in a chat session that the price was $62.95!  That is not was I was promised by the Comcast exec's the last time I spoke to someone.  I waited on the phone about ten minutes before being auto hung up on and the chat took another ten minutes to connect. When will the madness end!  Surely the FCC and DOJ are watching.  I think they are playing cat and mouse with them so any relief from the elusive pricing scheme is not in the near future.

Re: Over or Double billing and complaints to the FCC / Class Action Lawsuits

I too have many concerns, i have had bills in the past 4 months from double billing, to 50% increases, everytime I talk to the billing department they tell me that they cannot do anything, my first bill started in october witha rate increase from 70.00 dollars per month to 90.00 now the past 3 months over 100.00 and now 130.00 for december.. just for internet and phone service, since

in my condo we have basic cable provided.. at&t after the start up will only cost 60.00 per month after a 75.00 dollar hook up fee.. it's a no brainer I will be changing my service.. since the billing department says that I have a good rate at 130.00 per month.. let's all move to at&t...

Re: Over or Double billing and complaints to the FCC / Class Action Lawsuits

I have been a loyal Comcast customer for over 25 years.  I cannot believe the billing issues!!!! My amount keeps changing, increasing, as service decreases.  I have been charged a $7.99 HD Crawlspace fee.  What is that?

Disgusted with Comcast!!! I have sought help on several occasions and I am continually ignored.  Time to try Verizon FIOS.
