Will this be both Twin Cities
Minneapolis and St. Paul areas. As we live in the former with the Cisco boxes. thanks for the update .... now I can anticipate.
09-17-2011 12:03 PM
From what I gather it will be both Minneapolis and St. Paul.

This will be my final post to this forum. As of yesterday I have moved over to Uverse. I have FS & GolTV in glorious HD!! Will probably add FS+ HD as well (additional premium charge, but available). Overall the technology and experince are far superior to Comcast (for many reasons) and this is not a satellite solution. I would strongly encourage anyobdy who has Uvesre in their area to give it a shot.
The monoploy business model does not work Comcast. You have too much competition and customers will go where the value is.
Good luck to everyone!

A indirect observation on Direct vs. Dish. My neighbor started with Dish years ago to have tv service at his lake place and his house. A few years ago he switched to Direct and said it was better all around. He liked the picture better on Direct, could get a second receiver for his lake place, and the pricing was better.
He also said he has had less weather related drops with Direct vs. Dish
09-18-2011 10:39 PM
Will it come to just Minneapolis and St. Paul proper or the burbs as well?
09-19-2011 05:35 AM
Including the burbs.
09-20-2011 07:43 PM
Absolutely! Get a Clue COMCAST....I was just on their IM Chat for 1/2 an hour what a clueless individual. No product knowledge and no uddate on when this service will be added if ever. COMCAST Soccer coverage in SD is USELESS!
Some games they show on regular Fox Sports Channel and they are in HD and they are excellent, as are the ESPN games Also in HD on Sat morning!
Go Arsenal!!
09-20-2011 08:31 PM
I have finally had enough. I just called DirectTV and am making the switch.... I'll keep Comcast for internet and phone but I am gonna get Sports package which includes all the SOCCER I can watch INCLUDING FOX SOCCER CHANNEL AND FS+ ALL in HD... Bye Bye Comcast!!!!!!
09-21-2011 12:49 AM
You're going to be blown away by just those two channels in HD...and then you'll discover GolTV HD and be in heaven...and then you'll watch the EUFA channels and be in a state of bliss...and then you'll discover the Arsenal shows on YesTV HD and your head will explode. ![]()
09-21-2011 01:25 PM
The only reason my head is exploding is because 30% of the screen has been chopped off because they're jamming the feed into an SD screen format. Wake up Comcast, and add Fox Soccer and GolTV in HD to the Chicago area market.
09-21-2011 02:11 PM
09-21-2011 09:21 PM
Actually Fox Soccer no longer has "HD" on the watermark logo.
09-22-2011 03:14 PM
Got my bill today and no update. Comcast get on the ball.
09-24-2011 12:12 AM
Comcast sucks! Watching football on Fox Soccer SD on the shrinky dinky screen is absolutely ridiculous. Like HD is a new technology or something. And no GolTV is not acceptable either. If I could get a satellite signal where I live now I would NEVER switched from DirecTV!

Alaska is next and then a North Pole. Santa needs to watch soccer in HD.
Good job Comcast.
I love your way of thinking.
09-25-2011 12:03 PM
When do we get these two channels ? Tried to day and they do not exist and we are in the south west suburbs . hmm
09-25-2011 12:12 PM
I am not very good at desemination of info......... 11/15/2011 for the twin Cities
09-25-2011 12:15 PM
That is cool - I am patient ... been patient so far but can be patient a little longer lol
09-25-2011 12:42 PM
Has anyone got the complete list of new HD channels we are having in the Twin Cities on the 15th of November ? Where is this info listed - we don't seem to get it on our bills anymore ![]()

In today's paper, Fox Soccer Channel HD (and many others) coming to Fort Lauderdale area (Broward County) on October 25th!
They are making space by moving premium movie channels (HBO, Showtime etc.) to "On Demand". This makes so much sense and shoudl create enough space for every Comcast area to add Fox Soccer HD ASAP!

The English Premier League has the World's biggest TV audience...Doh! Get with the (Fox Soccer Channel HD) program Comcast...Litterally! I watched Arsenal v Bolton in SD on Sat and it was awful. ESPN early show of Everon game was super sharp HD. Macca was on top form.
Comcast: Bring FSC HD to Oakland/SF CA
Up the Arsenal.
PS: Oh yeah and we want BBC America in HD too!

Thanks jimc_usa for posting that info from your bill. Its funny since my last bill (which is only a few weeks old) had absolutely NOTHING at all in the spot where Comcast normally puts info like channel additions. Thankfully I have a friend who works for Comcast who tipped me off on Fox Soccer HD coming on 11/15. I do wish it would come sooner so I could at least watch the last few MLS games to be on the channel before NBC Sports picks up the rights starting for the 2012 season.
09-26-2011 05:44 AM
Yup saw your posts earlier about it too
but as you say here we also had our bill a few weeks ago but nothing on it at all which is nothing unusual where we are in the burbs. We always find out about new channels online from someone posting on here or AVS or DSL reports. Wish we could get told officialy but I am hoping we too get it on the 15th.

People !!!
I am based in Denver CO - I signed up for Comcast triple play back in June - I have been out of the country for 3 years. Prior to that I was a Directv customer living in New York.
I figured that by now surely Comcast will have figured out the popularity and growth behind soccer but No!!!
We are subjected to this ridiculous picture quality when we want to watch the beautiful game - Seriously ? !!!!!!!!!
I can watch all manner of ridiculous HD tv channels on Comcast - People gardening, people hunting animals with bows and arrows, people baking cakes, but no soccer on Fox Soccer Channel in HD - Utterly retarded no?
I have been left with only one choice, I have now installed Directv alongside comcast - when my one year contract runs out next June I will simply shut down the tv service from Comcast.
Incidentally the internet and phone service is absolutely fine and I will keep it out of convenience
In comparing the two tv options I can only say the Directv is just much more superior, they give you an RF remote control which is great if you keep components in a cabinet and the screen menus and interfaces are much much more modern looking
Directv deliver all my favorite sports - not just soccer in HD and there are so many more of them.
The lack of response from Comcast is just mind boggling
Good Luck
09-30-2011 04:10 AM
You know its almost like as if Comcast is encouraging people to jump to the competition at times.
09-30-2011 03:51 PM
On a top of... Wednesday Champions League games...
Only two games are shown and some very bright Comcast person, who takes care of scheduling decides that one of those two important games will be Bate - Barcelona game.
For how long can you watch a game when 10 Spaniards keep the ball on Bielarussian half for 95% of the time?
The only question was how many goals Barca will score.
Meanwhile Arsenal - Olympiacos is shown 30 hours later on Thursday evening.
What a joke....

FSC in HD in Harford County Maryland please.
Also MLS Direct Kick in HD please. Funny that I can watch probably 30 soccer matches a week on Comcast but only one a week is in HD.

Nil-Nil at Half!!
Yeah, not pretty at all. Reminds me of FIFA 2002 on Playstation 2.
10-01-2011 11:31 AM
10-01-2011 11:37 AM
Me too! Old video games have the same picture quality as Fox standard definition.
10-01-2011 11:41 AM
Yup totally agree - we tend to have the t.v. on and listen to the game as it makes our eyes bad watching and when the announcer gets excited we look up. We watch the goals and if we miss them we rewind the DVR.
Can't wait to November 15 when we have HD Fox Soccer
. I watch the first game on ESPN and it spoils me rotten.

Much better then Direct Kick since MatchDay Live offers ondemand replay of every game along with 15 minute condensed versions as well. Oh, and its near HD quality as well.

Another EPL weekend with nothing but excuses and empty promises from Comcast regarding FSC/Gol HD in the SF Bay Area. Enough is enough, if you are reading this and you have the option, DUMP COMCAST NOW! Direct TV and DISH both have FSC HD. Comcast has proven their total disregard for their customers, as this thread has been at the top of their "Customer Service" forums for a year with no action from them.
Unfortunately, my building doesn't allow sat dishes.
10-04-2011 12:46 PM - edited 10-04-2011 12:51 PM
I'm about to make the switch today to DirectTV, keeping Comcast's Internet service for the Xbox. Bye-bye blurry screen, HELLOOOOOOOO EPL in HD!
10-04-2011 01:09 PM
Unfortunately Comcast doesn't appear to give a fig. If they did they would have done something about FSC i HD a long time ago.
10-04-2011 03:21 PM
Hello Comcast....is anyone from Comcast out there?
Does anyone from Comcast ever actually read these forum posts? Why wouldn't a Comcast representative at least comment on the situation? Guess it is because they truly could care less.
I still have kept up my habit of emailing Comcast in Atlanta each week asking "when". Get the same ole "we don't know and we don't care". You would think for almost $200/month they would give me a little more love. As others have mentioned, I will probably keep my biz phone and internet with Comcast and then go with DirecTV.
I have held out this long so I think I will hold out just a bit longer. It is Oct 4...I will give them until the end of the year. Heck, if I do not hear anything regarding this by the end of the year, I may just switch everything. No point really in giving Comcast any money at all. They are just another Netflix anyway.

People keep asking for an Official response from Comcast, but they have made an official response by not responding:
"We do not care about what the customer wants, we will keep them in the dark and only show what channels we want to show."
Its clear, I have seen that message all over these boards, they don't care, why? Because they don't have too. They got your money and they know people are lazy and won't switch. So we can keep begging, but they will always do what they want and don't care about customers at all, this has been proven now. But please, Comcast, prove me wrong.....
10-04-2011 05:23 PM
I have DirectTV coming over to do an analysis at the weekend. If the signal reception is good where I live and they can set up a dish I am switching my HD service over. $200 a month Comcast will no lnger be getting from me! Fox Soccer in HD here I come.
