As I mentioned in previous post I now get FSC in HD in Atlanta on Gwinnett Broadband but just read the "sneak preview" part. What does that mean? Surely Comcast isn't going to give it to us for a bit and then yank it away!! Especially considering the European leagues are, for the most part, not playing for a while. Someone please tell me FSC in HD is here to stay!
To officially "add" a channel often requires local franchise and customer notification a certain number of days prior to the actual addition. The notification time frame rules vary from area to area.
A "sneak preview" is a way to introduce the channel ahead of the "official" recognized and communicated launch date. This allows us to deliver the channel to our customers sooner while the required notification process is underway.

Teds, are there any plans to add FSC HD or GOLTV HD to the downstate Illinois region, specifically the Urbana hub? Thanks.

I just happened to check the "Bring Fox Soccer Plus, FSC HD, and GOLTV HD to Comcast" on my FB page and saw that B-more just got it on ch. 842. I checked my ch. 842(Wheaton, MD MoCo) and what do I see? FSOCD! Finally! Bring GOLTV HD and FSOC+D as well! Keep on fighting!
P.S. I'll say it: Thank you Comcast.

Ted, can you please answer my question previously asked in this thread on Page 20..
"Ted, do you happen to have any idea when us folk in Western Mass (Springfield Area) will be seeing Fox Soccer HD?"
I'm on the verge of just jumping on the DirectTV bandwagon, however I was holding out on a response from this thread before going to all the effort involved in switching provider.
Please let me know.

Grahaml, I feel your pain. We finally got Fox Soccer in HD this week in the DC Metro region. I have been waiting patiently for an eternity. While Teds may be able to provide some useful updates as he gets them, I decided that I needed to take matters into my own hands.
I found out who the Senior Vice President of Programming was for my area and emailed him my concerns. I was polite, but firm to the point about my problems with not being able to view Fox Soccer in HD. I recieved a qucik response from his assistant, who told me that my email had been read and that they would be taking action to bring Fox Soccer to my region. To quote, she said something along the lines of needed to complete the paperwork to request the channel in HD, then said it would take a couple more months before we would get it. She was right, actually it took just less than 2 months altogether.
I don't know if my action was what prompted Comcast to start showing Fox Soccer in HD in my region. If so, then I take full credit. ![]()
If the roll-out of HD was already planned for my area and it was just a matter of waiting, I guess I will never know.
The point is, sometimes all it takes is a well written letter sent to the right person to make a change. It may not even be on someones radar that there is a demand for it. Soccer, still is unfortunately not yet a major sport in this country.
We all know that calling comcast and speaking to a representative will never change anything, and as useful as this board is at venting our frustrations, I doubt anyone senior at comcast is reading.
Good luck, and let me know how it goes.

Apologies I took a few days off last week and I am just starting to catch up.
Western MA has started the process to add Fox Soccer Channel HD to the channel lineup.
There are internal and external processes that require review and approvals.
Once those reviews and approvals take place and all goes according to plan, Fox Soccer Channel HD is currently scheduled to be added over the summer in your area.

do you say the same thing for every where? Can't you find out a specific date?

Both Pittsburgh and Western MA are in the same stage of the process. I was replying to three different individuals. The dates have not been set yet for these areas.
Other areas have launched Fox Sports Channel HD and I have provided dates once the dates have been confirmed (Atlanta, DC, Northern NJ as examples in this thread).
To provide a guess at the dates at this time for Pittsburgh and Western MA would be not helpful to anyone and would set false expectations.
I thought it was more important to provide some update to the inquiries on the process for these two areas rather than wait until the dates were confirmed. Perhaps I was wrong to do that.

fox soccer HD is in the new channels by me its in the 1500's, I think you need to get the expanded hd channnels before you can get this channel. I have had it for a while.
06-11-2012 08:41 PM
My channels only go up to 999
06-11-2012 08:52 PM
do you have fox soccer hd? the newest comcast hd lineup adds channels in the 1200-1600 range, for me its in the 1500's. I am motorola in NJ
06-11-2012 08:57 PM
There have been reports on this thread of people having the channel in the 700s and 800s. So it may not require the expanded level HD channels.
Guess it depends on the market.
06-11-2012 09:02 PM
800's are only music less than 50 channels
900's only 998, 999

Wow, really seems to be some movement here. Hoping it happens soon here near Hartford, CT too.
Although FSC is losing the league I care most about - the Italian Serie A league.
A new channel BeInSports is picking up Italian and Soccer rights in USA later this summer - rendering FSC much less valuable - just when they are starting to listen to our calls for HD.
Hopefully Comcast doesn't allow us to get less product for what we're paying for on our sports tiers and picks up this new channel (in HD!) quickly as well.

Fox Soccer HD (794) and Tennis Channel HD (798) were added in Atlanta last week (I'm just south of ATL) on Comcast.
I just stumbled on the tennis channel the day after a major tournament when I was on ch127 and the "Watch in HD" option popped up. I contacted Comcast multiple times asking about Tennis Channel HD and was told that I would be informed when the channel is available in my area- still haven't heard anything from them ![]()
The "Watch in HD" option has completly disappeared on the 127 channel (tennis) but displayed in 124 (soccer). The other problem with the "Watch in HD" option is that it doesn't always display.
If DSL didn't suck I would've left Comcast a long time ago, but I'd rather have one provider for cable/internet.

The Watch in HD button only appears when the specific corresponding program on the "HD channel" is actually in HD. The network assigns what programs are in HD in their data stream and that triggers the button to appear. It is not boilerplated to the SD channel, it is program specfic.

Well... I made the move from Comcast to DirecTV a month ago due to being sick of not having MLS Direct Kick in HD along with getting a better price for DirecTV compared to what I've been paying for Comcast. Let me just say DirecTV is superior to Comcast in almost every aspect its not funny. Picture and sound quality is superior. More HD channel offerings for the most part - hello HDNet, HDNet Movies, all the premium movie HD channels especially the ones Comcast dropped, GolTV HD (never got that on Comcast ever), oh and exclusive channels for extra UEFA Champion League games not carried live on the Fox sports channels and of course MLS Direct Kick in stunning HD.
Oh and that nice 1 terabyte hard drive that lets me record five things at once. Mind blowingly awesome.
Glad I jumped.

No plans to add this channel in areas of Illinois at this time. Fox Soccer Channel HD is a channel that the local team is looking at, but nothing is planned as of yet.

Saw this gem on this month's bill (Cambridge, MA)
"IMPORTANT CHANNEL LINEUP INFORMATION: On 5/15/12,
Baby First will be added to Digital Preferred channel 191. A
subscription to Digital Preferred and digital equipment will be
necessary to view this channel."
According Wikipedia:
"BabyFirstTV is a commercial-free premium satellite TV network aimed at 6-month-old to 5-year-old children."
Well thank God that this highly requested channel is now available. I'm sure those 2 year-olds have been demanding this channel be added for years. I'm sure their parents have created a thread on the Comcast forum over 1000 posts long much like this one and will be counting down the days until it goes live. Thankfully Comcast somehow finally squeeze out enough bandwidth the add this premium programming for its legions of infant customers that were previously being ignored and underserved.
Fox Soccer HD? Nah, no one wants that.
06-23-2012 01:39 PM
Just switch your providers. I switched to U-Verse a few weeks ago. I get FSC, FSC+ and GolTv all in HD and I didn't have to wait for an ATT rep to feed me disinformation for years to get it. I told Comcast on the phone that I was leaving because they don't have these channels in HD. Comcast will learn when you all start doing what I did. Until you switch, I hope you enjoy Baby First TV.
06-24-2012 10:20 AM
FSC in HD has now arrived in Atlanta (a few weeks back on 794). What's HILARIOUS (or it would be if not serious) is that I've probalby put in 10+ requests for it over the last 3 years *and* used Social Media to request it and of course, we've all requested it here. SO, how did I find out about it - TOTALLY by accident - I still haven't been TOLD by anyone I have it? I bet if I call Comcast, they won't even know I have it - LOL
#fail or what ![]()

spiker311, thanks for the sarcasm, but you're obviously not aware that many people CANNOT simply switch providers. I live in Cambridge, MA, where Comcast has an exclusive cable deal with the city. Sure, in *theory*, I could switch to a satellite provider like DirecTV, but I live in an apartment building (like many millions of Comcast customers), so I can't put a dish anywhere. I really wish that was an option, but it's not. Maybe I'll just move :-)
06-25-2012 02:24 PM
I live in Cambridge, MA, where Comcast has an exclusive cable deal with the city
I'm not in Cambridge, but in another town where Comcast is the only option other than satellite, but in the service of clarity, there are no exclusive deals. Monopoly contracts are banned by federal and have been for years and years. Verizon has just stopped expansion of FIOS. It's not the cities and towns keeping RCN and FIOS out, it's the two companies just not wanting to expand.
I've been on the cable tv committee and we'd kill to have either one come to our town, but they're just not interested.
06-25-2012 02:49 PM
Okay, fair enough. End result for the customer is the same: I'm stuck with a single provider that overcharges for services that it has no incentive to improve.
06-26-2012 08:30 AM
Any idea when we may be getting FSC HD in Detroit?
07-09-2012 04:56 PM
I tried Calling comcast to find out y is it not avialable fremont as it available in Union city Area, Guy asked told me they can submit request on my behalf of make this channel available, but he ll need as many possible, so whoever lives in Fremont California area pls call comcast n require FSC HD channel 803, only then they ll make it available
07-09-2012 05:01 PM
Complaining to Comcast about FSC HD in the Bay Area is pointless. They're already committed to a digital conversion in their entire service area and to bring in FSC in HD to each area after all its analog TV subscribers are converted to digital (usually via free converter box).
07-12-2012 12:26 PM - edited 07-12-2012 12:36 PM
Any idea when Fox Soccer HD will be coming to southern New Hampshire (same lineup as Boston area so assuming when they get it, we'll get it..)? The digital conversion was completed years ago, at least in our area, so I don't think that is the reason we don't have it yet.
I'm hoping there are plans to roll it out by the start of the EPL season (August)...but if not, please let me know so I can start looking elsewhere. Thank you.
07-13-2012 04:21 PM
Why do people keep including GolTV in their requests? That's so old school. They lost the La Liga rights. Who is going to watch them, anymore?!?
What we need is for people to tell Comcast to get going with the agreement with "Bein Sports 1 AND 2." That's what is going to be worth watching as long as Fox and ESPN, not GolTV.
07-13-2012 07:54 PM
GOL TV is important for soccer fans because of Europa League.
07-13-2012 08:29 PM
Broni wrote:GOL TV is important for soccer fans because of Europa League.
Sorry, but that is also old school. GolTV also lost those rights, this time to Fox. Now, GolTV are a shadow of their former self. Need to be replaced with something watchable..

Personally I am hoping GolTV (or even Fox) will pick up TV rights to NASL here in America. Would be nice to see our division 2 get some real TV coverage especially given the New York Cosmos will be joining the league next year... and of course Minnesota Stars FC. ![]()
07-14-2012 09:55 AM
Please do not broadcast any NASL even MLS. Skills level is really low in MLS. I can not watch it.

I live in West Pittston PA (18643); Scranton which is 10 miles up the road is getting FSC HD, but my area (Dunmore Digital) only gets Gol HD and not FSC HD.
When will FSC HD be available in my area?
With the EPL about to start up the new season I wiould lovew to be able to view in HD.
Cant understand why it is Scranton but not here.

Honestly I don't know what is worse - the Anti-Soccer crowd or the Eurosnob crowd. Nothing against the Euro leagues like EPL, La Liga, etc since I enjoy watching them as well. But my two teams first and foremost is the Minnesota Stars FC and New England Revolution (in no particular order).
