Re: FSC HD Fox Soccer Channel

kay well, im going to remove myself from this forum. its been a little fun, but mostly really sad. if youre in the twin cities, you might still have have time to get directv installed by the weekend and catch the gold cup. i know a third party installer who does a great job. i'd say contact me in private but since comcast isnt actually listening i'll go find his info and post it in a minute. $100 off for you and $100 off the person who refers you. thats the deal that got me to switch. thats a national deal, btw.

"Maybe we need to create a website"

There is a group called "Bring Fox Soccer Plus, FSC HD and GOLTV HD to Comcast!" on Facebook that you can all join. There are only around 400 members right now. If we can get a 1000 people on this, that's a start.

Are you kidding me? Really?

I suggest, we start add numbers to our replies.

I'll put #1 here, so next person, who replies after me, please ad #2 to your reply and so on...

I realize, those numbers can be edited as well, but we'll make it little bit harder on them.

Would not surprise me if those messages were deleted. All this could be avoided if Comcast were to add Fox Soccer HD. Then none of us would be considering DirecTV.

Still waiting in Chicago, IL

It's ridiculous that Comcast just deployed 12+ useless HD channels last week in the Chicago market but no FSC HD or GolTV HD. They gave a higher priority to a hunting, fishing HD channel before soccer HD channels. Who makes decisions at Comcast? R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S!!!!!!!!!!!

Below is a message I just received today from Comcast escalation. Same old story. Feel free to try and contact the guy below and see if we can light a fire under their butts.

Dear Mr. Cardozo:

I am writing in response to your request for the Fox Soccer Channel in HD.  As committed, I forwarded your request to our local marketing team.  I requested that they provide additional information about the status of adding the requested channel to our Twin Cities channel lineup.

They have informed me that we do not have a confirmed date for adding that channel; however, we are actively working on expanding our High Definition lineup here in the Twin Cities. Fox Soccer Channel in HD is being considered as part of that expanded lineup.

I also forwarded your feedback regarding recent interactions to our management team.  They are reviewing your concerns and have committed to following up with the individuals involved.  Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback and allowing us to work to address them.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact me or a member of the escalation team at 651-493-5900 between the hours of 8:00am and 7:00pm.

Sincerely,

Justin Stephenson

What I don't understand is that you say that the way you justify what channels you offer is by customer demand. There is no way that the hunting and fishing channels generate a bigger audience then FSC, GolTV, or FSC Plus. Then add on top of that no one at Comcast can give their paying customers an actual date is extremely insulting. I have been thinking about talking to my local news affiliates here to see if they would be interested in this story because it has such National appeal. Not only do we pay a great deal of money for just the Digital package alone but then us soccer fans have to pay $8 extra on average for FSC, FSC plus or Gol TV and it's still in standard def. Then on top of all that we can't even get real answer as to when. I look forward to your response.

Regards,

Fed up soccer fan.

the only thing i can think of why Comcast dont have FS (Channel) in HD (it's going to be called just "Fox Soccer" soon) is becuase Comcast have $$$$ in some NHL teams and they see soccer as a threat to their business in that sport

Re: FSC HD Fox Soccer Channel

I have been calling into comcast since HD on FSC was first announced. I was told that it would be part of the xfinity upgrade. Nothing. I have been told that it "should" be coming within the next few months, many many times. This is ridiculous, why is comcast ignoring the people who want FSCHD? I am in NH and no FSC in HD here.

I've been calling and doing the chat thing online since it was first announced and at first they kept telling me the same thing. That it would be added in a month or two months or when the Xfinity upgrade took place. I would speak to one person 1 minute and they would tell me one thing then talk to someone else and they would tell me something completely different.

But lately I don't even get that. Which I'm actually glad because I was tired of getting false information. Now I just get the standard company line of "we are looking to upgrade in all areas as more bandwidth becomes available."

hit post by accident.

Anyway, if they news more bandwidth how about they let people pay for what they ACTUALLY want? If I could get rid of the 900 channels I don't want and just 20 or 30 channels that I'll actually watch than that would save a whole lot of bandwidth.

Anyway, that's probably not likely anytime soon and it's a shame.

I'm just mad that the ONE channel that I want I can't get but I get 900 useless channels of garbage.

I just noticed on my cable box here in the Twin Cities (St. Paul side) that the SD channel for FSC is now labeled "FSOC." Could this be a subtle clue that HD is on the way? Or simply Comcast prepping for the channel to change its name to Fox Soccer next month?

Re: FSC HD Fox Soccer Channel

The bandwidth argument doesn't make sense to me.

The reason being,Comcast is showing FSC HD games on its' Comcast Sportsnet channel, sometimes at the same time as FSC, sometimes not. I haven't noticed any live games. Also, this same channel shows Japanese and Korean soccer...you just can't make this stuff up. It's sad they won't give us FSC in HD. When I move, I'm going to get satellite  since you can get FSC HD on those services.

Plus, there are about 10-15 channels that say, "To be announced".

So, I know they are getting FSC HD feeds. It's just they aren't advertising it.

I have Baltimore County Comcast.

The MLS "Soccer Night In America" games that are on Fox Soccer are rerun on the various regional Fox Sports/Comcast Sports channels a few days after the game. Still doesn't help when you want to watch said MLS game live like I do.

I am writing from Massachusetts, and I would love to have FOX SOCCER in HD. When I watch matches now it shows the HD in the corner, but it's not really HD. It's still in the aspect of 4:3 with terrible video quality on a good TV. Comcast has been saying that it's "on the way" but as we know that's garbage. Unless Comcast can see a profit in adding the channel, which will consume their badwidth resources, they just won't do it.

The good news. I am not bound by contract to Comcast, and if the channel doesn't come around before the start of the next EPL I can simply get a dish, or perhaps Verizon. I am okay with it. I also think that it is cheaper than cable anyway. As I subscribe to Netflix I don't really care if I lose On Demand, and competitors are all about giving deals to potential clients looking to switch providers.

I might of already said it in this thread so if I have its worth repeating....

What gets me is that Fox Soccer HD is part of the "sports and entertainment" package. That means in order to get the channel you have to pay extra on top of the amount you pay already to get digital TV services (and that HD box). That to me is insulting when many of us are paying for that package for Fox Soccer yet Comcast for whatever reason is being very stubborn about getting the channel available in HD. Come on Comcast its been available for 18 months now. Get with the program and give us Fox Soccer HD.

Oh, and... LETS GO PATS!!!! :smileyhappy:

New Jersey, I'm 30 Miles out of NYC and Philly. We don't have it. I got a reply last week telling me that they are working to expanding the HD offerings. They would not give me solid confirmation that FSC is one of them and they could not give me a time frame. I asked what the Project ETA is and no response. Every project has projected dates. If it doesn't they need to fire their project management team.

I've been avoiding the switch to a certain satellite provider because the NFL redzone channel requires a $350 subscription to NFL ticket. Not anymore! The NFL ticket package is now included for new subscribers. The sports pack costs an extra $13/mo and FSC and GolTV are included in HD. I'll be watching the EPL, Serie A and Bundesliga in HD this season! COYS!
