Favorites resetting/changing and losing channels

Why do my favorites keep getting messed up? This is ridiculous.  I can't hide the channels I don’t want/have or need.  I take the time to setup my favorites and now for the 3rd time in the 10 days (new house) I have had Comcast service they reset/get jumbled or add duplicates of the same channels. (200 series and 800 series channels)

Why have the same channel in HD 2 times and then have the  non HD channels?  Makes it hard to look through the schedule and DVR programming. Why do cable companies insist on showing us channels we don’t have and locking out the ability to hide ones we don’t want.

Anyone have a fix? So far I am not impressed for overpriced under delivered service.

Well... Least Im not in a contract...

Side note... This DVR sucks.. And seriously advertisement in the guide!!!  OIY

There seems to be a bug when you have channels in your favorites list that have multiple channel numbers. It mainly happens when the box reboots. I have to keep fixing mine up whenever it reboots.

Same problem here everytime Comcast does a reset or reboot or whatever maintenance. Real pain in the buttocks.

Re: Favorites resetting/changing and losing channels

I think the root is that the duplicate channels have duplicate internal ID numbers. When it rebuilds the list after a reboot, it seems to just go by what is found first on the list. I haven't looked at what the actual ID numbers are to see if there is a pattern. (If you go to the iGuide diagnostics, I think it is the 'N' code on the first or second screen.)

Over a year later and I'm still having the same problems... with more frequent resets!
