I recently contacted comcast about purchasing mlb extra innings.....i am out of market for tiger's games....zip 46901. 180$ - early bird special. sounded great but the thing is, today i turn on for my tigers game on extra innings, and its blacked out!!!! Why? im not in the local media market for the tigers or i wouldnt have needed the mlb extra innings. comcast rep told me i would recieve all home and away games. i could understand if they played one of the three teams on my blackout area (reds, cubs, white sox) but they played tampa bay today. same as yesterday. same ballpark. bigger attendance today than yesterday. to me, a blackout means i cant view the game bc the local media market owns the rights to the broadcast. but i dont live in that media market. and the tv broadcast rights are for FOX SPORTS DETROIT. i only receive fox sports midwest. comcast couldnt switch me, so i ordered extra innings

Have you tried the HD channel for other games, even if you're not particularly interest in them? My MLB Extra Innings HD channel has been blacked out for ALL except 2 games all year. I keep getting canned answers from Comcast and no reponse from inDEMAND.

you might need to check the mlb team area and see if detroit claims you as in their home area.
Next step is to contact fox sports detroit and then mlb and ask why since you can't get fox sports detroit the tigers games are blacked out.

They cut the free preview short in Massachusetts and the HD channel that shows games was blacked out most of the preview. Comcast should be embarrassed offering sports packages for the amount of money they do in garbage SD quality. They wonder why people always complain about their high rates and lack of HD.

I'm glad you're getting it resolved. It's always better to approach the broadcaster first.
