Selected Olympics coverage in 3D should be on a channel labeled XF3D in your lineup. That is channel 981 where I am (Philadelphia).
Can you let me now what city and state you are in? Then I can locate that channel number for you.
XF3D is not available in all areas.
To find Olympics coverage (and channels) in your area via the on-screen guide, push the Menu button on the silver Comcast remote control, then select Find Shows (or Search) and select 2012 Summer Olympics.
Use the right arrow to look ahead or the Day + button (the red C button) to see what's on when.

Should be on channel 791 in your area.
To view 3D channels on Comcast, a customer must have all of the following:

I hate to bother you again but..... Channel 791 is showiing Titan Boxing in 3D, but when I go to guide tocheck on when opening ceremonies start on 791, there are no Olympic listings. Is there another channel that I've missed? I think I went through every channel but no more 3D Olympics.
Please help! Thank you.

XF3D is not showing the Opening Ceremonies, those are exclusive to NBC and will be shown on your local NBC station.
XF3D will be showing next-day selected highlights in 3D throughout the Olympics. I see some Olympic coverage scheduled on XF3D on Saturday 7/28 from 5am - 5pm (Opening Cermomonies replay) and additional coverage starting at 4am on Sunday, 7/29
Let me see if I can get a more complete schedule and post that here

My impatience got the best of me and i ended up calling my local Comcast and was told the Opening Ceremonies should be broadcast on 791 at 7:30 pm. The reason it isn't on the guide is that it is not a regularly scheduled program.
However, she said that if I can't receive it, to call back. For what reason I don't know. I can either get it or I can't. I have all the requirements and they even set up a 3d code.
On the Comcast 3D page, it says that there would be 12hour coverage plus 2hour late night highlights. Just a suggestion: It would be helpful if they added what areas it would be available in or what areas it would not be available in. Would save a lot of phone calls, posts, confusion, and frustration.
Again, thanks for your help.

Thanks for the feedback and apologies for the incorrect information you received when you called in.
The Opening Ceremonies definitely will not be on XF3D tonight at 7:30pm ET
XF3D will have replays of the Opening ceremonies starting at 5am ET on Saturday.
You can watch the Opening Ceremonies live tonight on your local NBC station (in SD or HD).

LOL.... replay at 5 a.m.? Local NBC said the 3D would be broadcast at 7:30, Comcast said the 3D would be broadcast at 7:30, but now you tell me in order to watch it in 3D i have to get up at 5 a.m????
What can I say except the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.
How disappointing.
Thanks for getting my bubble burst.... not your fault though. One last question, will I be able to DVR the 5 a.m. 3D ceremonies. I think I know the answer already, but am asking anyway.

Tonight's Opening Ceremonies are live and only on NBC.
A 3D replay will repeat on channel XF3D starting at 5:00am ET through 5:00pm ET.
Yes you can certainly set a DVR recording on XF3D.
EDIT: Added the schedule of Olympic Programs scheduled in 3D to be shown on channel XF3D, open the PDF attachment below.

Thank you Ted for the PDF schedule. I'm not surprised the 3D offerings are delayed. I'm assuming they're commercial free and NBC/Comcast needs to make ad revenue to help pay the 1+ billion dollars they paid for the rights.

thank you for the schedule but each time i try to open it, i get a runtime error and comcast crashes..
this isn't my day!

touchofgray have you tried to right click on the link and save the file to your desktop and then open it? It's working both ways for me but I thought I'd ask.

To find any Olympics coverage (and channels) in your area via the on-screen guide, push the Menu button on the silver Comcast remote control, then select Find Shows (or Search) and select 2012 Summer Olympics.
Use the right arrow to look ahead or the Day + button (the red C button) to see what's on when and what channels the Olympics are on.
Next day 3D coverage is on a channel labeled XF3D. It’s on channel 333 in MA (and available in most areas of MA).

How do I find out if the Olympics are available in 3D in my area? Marysville, WA I contacted Comcast before the Olympics began and had the 3D channels activated to be ready with my 3D TV. Channel 897 shows that it is the Olympics 3D channel in my channel guide, but I assumed it just wasn't working because the Olympics hadn't started yet. ESPN 3D works just fine on Channel 898 so my equipment is fine.
I had no reason to assume 897 wouldn't work when the Olympics started. I set my DVR to record the channel and nothing recorded. The channel is just grey. I've contacted a number of Comcast employees over the phone and on instant chat and nobody could figure out why the channel wasn't working for me. I've spent hours either on hold or trying to describe the issue to employees who didn't understand my problem because there were other channels that I could enjoy the Olympics on. Disappointing because I keep hearing reports of how fantastic it looks in 3D.
Is it just not available in my area or am I talking to all of the wrong people? 1/2 of them said there was no reason that it shouldn't be working and the other 1/2 offered the alterate NBC channels to watch them. Help?

edit-- oops.. overlooked the subject... 3D sorry, no clue

If you can watch pay per view on your TV and your tv is a 3D TV, you are all set. Xfinty uses the above and below method of sending 3D. Just set yourTV to decode vertical 3D and it will work fine. You do not need a special receiver. The 3D picture is not a big deal. If you are expecting to see scantily clad teenage athletes dancing around your bedroom, forget it. It is not very dramatic. In fact, it is very disappointing. I have watched some of Comcast's other 3D programming and some of the graphical shows like cartoons, do cause things to dance around your room. Not the olympic girls ha ha.
