I have read all the posts and have called Comcast twice. Tech help by telephone had no idea there was any problem like this even when asked for a supervisor. So sent a long message to Comcast help e-mail and received back a link to reset my password, which I had mentioned I had already done in my message. So reset password and of course did not work. I am calling to downgrade my service today. By the way, I tried atdhenet.tv last night and got live BBC from London. Not BBC for America.
Sorry to hear about your experience. I have opened a ticket on your account just now, someone from the team will be reaching out to you directly to help resolve.

Apologies that you are having an issue.

Has there been a solution found yet for this extremely frustrating issue?
We are now several days into the Olympics and I am still unable to stream the live Oilympics feed from NBC. I meet all of the requirements. I am trying to access the stream from home where I have both Comcast INternet and cable with CNBC and MSNBC (digital package). I cannot access the live stream from my brand new WIndows 7 Desdktop, my Windows XP laptop or my 1 month old HTC EVO LTE Android phone. I have a current Comcast uername and password. I have uninstalled and reinstalled adobe flash as Comcast suggests. On both computers I tried clearing my cache, cookies, specifically deleting all Adobe Flash files. I disabled my AVG antivirus software. I disabled my popup blocker. And ALWAYS the same resuly, on both computerts. When I go tot he NBC Olympics site to begin the process of live streaming the videos, I see the botton for Comcast. I click it. Absolutely nothing happens, it takes me back to the same screen. There is no way to enter my Comcast userid or password, and according to Comcast's much-touted website on teh subject, when I am home I should not have to enter a userid or password. This is frustrating beyond words. While looking for a solution to the issue on the Comcast website a while ago, isntead I find a SPOILER with headlines screaming that China won the gymnastics gold... an even I was unable to watch live because of this $#(#$* Comsast issue. WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE? PLEASE DO NOT keep posting the same useless advice to do everythign that I have already done! There must be something that Comcast is aware of by now that can fix this problem before I have a stroke trying to watch the Olympics live online -- as Comcast advertises -- and being unable to do so!
Apologies for the issue. My understanding is that your individual issue was resolved last evening. Please let me know if that is not the case. Enjoy the Games.

I have had the same problems repeatedly. yesterday comcast called my home and said my account information had been adjusted so i would not have trouble steaming the olympics and it then worked yesterday evening BUT today i get the endless loop clicking on comcast as my provider.
this is a comcast failure of what should have been a straightforward service that has not been fixed

I had the same issue with Chrome. Finally, cleared all my cookies and uncheck the block third party cookies box. Was then able to connect.

So I too have Windows 7, Comcast Xfinity on Demand, have cleared cache/history/cookies/etc, unblocked nbcolympics.com from popup blockers, uninstalled Adobe and installed the new flash player and all I get is the website looping asking me to install the flash player again. I even tried this but, it said only once instance of the flash player can be running. I have wasted days on this like all others posting here. Please help!
08-01-2012 06:44 PM
Sorry,
I have gone thru this exhaustively and it just does not work. My environment:
Comcast xfinity digital customer
Ubuntu 12.04 with Firefox and Google Chrome
Adobe Flash latest (Adobe verifies)
I have tried every solution here and here is the sequence:
I click on the big Comcast button - it redirects me to an sp-auth side at adobe which re-reroutes me to an idp.comcast.net site and that bounces me right back to NBColympics.
Here is the IDP site URL from where I get bounced:
This looks like a problem on the SSO at Comcast.net.
I have been on the phone twice, for over an hour and just got dropped on the interchange from the TV support to tech support - no call back either.
This is very, very frustrating.
08-01-2012 06:55 PM
one more piece of information: the sp.auth.adobe call kicks off the authorize routine with mso_id=Comcast_SSO.
Looks like the problem is in either how the sp.auth service at Adobe formulates the request to IDP.Comcast.net or the idp.comcast.net program is messed up and zips it right back to NBC without actually authenticating. This is definitely a comcast javascript problem.
This is very very annoying to customers who are paying large sums of money for Xfinity.

Having major problems here.
I wanted to watch olympics, told i needed TV service. So i subscribed. Went to comcast location and picked up HD Digital box. Activated but cant log into NBCOLYMPIC site.
I sign into XFINITY fine, but when trying to access the olympics i get prompted to select serivce provider which defaults to Comcast. Then i am prompted with error message "Access to NBC Olympics Live Extra requires an XFINITY® TV subscription*.....
I rang Comcast and they sait it takes 24hrs to activate, tested after 24hrs same problem.
Phoned tech Support back and and had them log in with my account as they tried to tell me it takes 72 Hours to setup. Tech logged in with my credentials and it worked FINE!
More than 3 hours bouncing around between TV Support, Internet Support, 3rd Level Support in Phillipenes, And then having my phone call dropped (and not returned)... the 4 letter words started flying!!
Phoned Comcast back, tested with an apparent "High Level Tech" by plugging directly into comcast box via NetWork Cable and it worked fine!
FIx was to go buy new router. Old router was a Netgear150 model
Bought new Router for $99 from Best Buy, tested and STILL not working.
Spent another 1.5 hours on phone tonight with tech... they cant fix.
Adobe fix did not work. Reseting Cache.
2 Machines (MAC) on network with same problem.
Tried 5Ghz and 2.3Ghz wireless and it does not work.
Frustrated much?!
Your issue should now be resolved, Some changes were made to your cable account settings yesterday, Please confirm that you can get access. Thanks for your patience.

I'm having practically all the same typical issues that most are having when trying to watch live streaming via "Live Extra" I have done every suggested steps(unistall flash/reset flash settings, etc) including trying to uninstall IE 9 and 10. Nothing has worked. I have even gone into Norton to see if there's anything i can adjust...(no need too). I have gotten everything from having the "black-screen/ no video" to 'Not Authorized" Live Extra only worked once, yesterday while watching beach volleyball. But when I return early this morning, right back to the inifinite loop "Log-in" screen. And of course that log-in page doesnt work. I even go through comcast.net 1st to log-in before I even try nbcolympics.com, to make sure that at least I am logged in via my comcast acct. Still, its not working.
I agree w/ a previous poster, patti. It defintely looks like a coding issue b/t flash, javascript, and possibly other bad coding. If everyone is getting that infinite loop with the log-in screen, that a sign of bad coding/scripting. Thats is both a comcast problem and NBC.
I would like this to be fixed. Track and Field is starting tomorrow, and I, Like the rest of the viewers knows, that NBC wont be showing a lot of T&F on TV until the final rounds. There's a lot of T&F to be watched via live streaming, so I really need this to be fixed.
=====================
Using IE10 and 9
FireFox (Not Authorized keeps popping up after trying to atempt Live Extra)
all updated
Windows 8 developer Windows 7
Flash is up to date
BTW: I was able to document/save the urls when I do try to use Live Extra. I wont posted them here b/c I can see personal (log-in) info. I want to send them to whomever will help me.

This can be corrected by adjusting the flashplayer settings:
The video should then play without trouble.

OK - update: after talking to tech support this afternoon, after some fairly random moves, it started woeking. It worked for about a couple of hours and I was in the middle of watching a swimming replay when it broke off and I am back to square 1 here.
Sorry, but this has been quite a disaster.
08-03-2012 10:51 PM
pattai- I've reopen your issue with the engineers.
08-05-2012 01:15 PM
After several days of getting stuck at the "Pick a Provider" screen and reviewing several forums and threads on the same issue, I have recently gotten past that ridiculous hurdle to be stopped by another.
I try to watch videos on the Gold Zone, and every other channel mind you, and consistently get the message "An error occurred. Please try again later." when trying to load any sort of video.
I allowed Flash to store on my computer (running a Mac, Lion 10.7.4), deleted all saved data, and did all of these excessive and unnecessary things to allow me to view online what I pay for monthly.
What is the deal with the message "An error occurred. Please try again later." and what is Comcast doing to fix this problem?
08-05-2012 01:19 PM
In addition, commercials work just fine....30 seconds of video viewing pleasure!! .....but no olympic video.
I have tried on Safari, Chrome, Firefox...all the same error message.
08-06-2012 12:05 AM
I am having exact same issue as Pattai . The environment is same too, that is Ubuntu 12.04, Flash is 11.2.202.236, browser is latest Firefox.
Please help.
Thanks.
