I'm curious as to how many HD channels other people have (especially those who don't live in large metropolitan areas). I live in the suburbs, but it seems to me as if the number of HD choices is severely lacking, especially when you take into account how many MORE options satellite offers. To give you a hint of how many HD channels we have in my area, here is what we get:
NESN HD (local sports channel)
YES HD (local sports channel)
+ local channels and some premium channels (only HBO HD channel is HBO HD, etc.)
Is this normal with Comcast?
Also, I asked a couple of years ago about the number of HD options (which has increased by 1 channel since then, I believe) and if it would be expanding, but I was told that my area uses an "older system which cannot accomodate more HD." Is there any particular wait time that I can expect until my area can be upgraded with a wider spectrum to accomodate more channels?

Where do you live? I'd like to look up your system and see what's going on with it.
I know of some Comcast systems with zero HD's at all, so your not alone.

Just a comment...I visted someones house who had verizon fios today..and was totally blown away with the number of HD channels they had. and even the picture quality of the non HD channels was amazing.I currently have comcast and I am really disapointed with the number of HD channels available in my area.based on what I saw today if verizon fios was available in my area I would switch. But unfortunately it is not available currently.Message to Comcast...A lot of people I know are getting HDTV...We want more HD channels Thank you
