Online Parental Controls

I was wondering if anyone can tell me if I can set ONLINE parental controls for just certain users or is it a global thing?  My 16 year old is watching the Olympics with his Comcast ID but he just realized that it gives him access to the online movie and TV content too.  There is some inappropriate stuff on there for 16 year olds but I don't want to restrict mine or my husbands access.  Can anyone help me?

Also, do you know if it can be bypassed with a lock code like on the box, does that setting apply to HBO Go for his iPod?

  1. Please go to customer.comcast.com and then click the Users & Settings tab near the top of the page.
  2. Chose the account you want to set parental locks for from the dropdown near the top of the page.
  3. Under Online Video Settings you will see an option for parental controls. Click Edit
  4. Set a pin
  5. Click Edit on TV Ratings, Movie, and/or Network locks
  6. Set parental controls

Thanks,
Joe

Re: Online Parental Controls

When I tried these steps to create the 4 digit PIN to enable XFINITY TV Online Parental Controls (logged in as the Primary user), it didn't appear to set anything. I entered my 4 digit PIN, pressed Create, and it went back to the top of the Users & Preferences screens.

What am i missing?

Re: Online Parental Controls

BTW, I initially tried this using FireFox 11 and Chrome 23.0.1271.97.

When I did it via IE 8, I got the COPPA confimation pop up and the was able to set my pin.

I'm not sure it is related the browser (or version), to my pop up configuration, or to something like my Java configuration.

But, I eventually did get it to work
