My wife juststarted having a problem receiving comcast emails on her iPhone. I can add her account to my phone and get old emails, but not recent ones. Comcast, you must fix this soon.

Same problem - iPhone 4, Comcast account has worked for over a year, until last week, now can get past emails, send email but only getting very few intermittent new emails (whereas all new emails come in just fine to Outlook on my PC).
Ports are correct (995/465), passwords are correct, not deleting emails on server from my Outlook instance, I've deleted/recreated account, shut down and restarted phone...

I am not sure if this works for you, but I was able to get back on track by moving all of my inbox messages to a sub-folder on the server. After that, all my new emails came through. I've just read that advise on one of the forums, and my understanding was that it has something to do with one of the existing emails being corrupted, thus preventing new emails from being downloaded.

Thanks - I had tried deleting a bunch of emails going back about a month, but hadn't moved them all out. I just moved them all out so the inbox is empty and that seems to have resolved the issue. I'll keep my eye on it.
Thanks again.

When I tried to send emails they just disappeared!
I deleted the Mail accounts on both my iPhone and IPad and then rebuilt them.
This seems to solve the problem.

Same problem since June 2012. I can receive mail, but can no longer reply or send from the iPhone. Keeps saying my settings are incorrect.
Huge pain in the behind!

Same on my iPad. Receive but not send.

Ok I've had a problem for about a week. I have two comcast accounts. One worked fine and the second one which is still not the primary would only download emails through 8/14/12 and previously. I tried everything, talked to Verizon, they got Comcast on the phone, Comcast disavowed any knowledge of the problem.
Went to the Apple Store, not their problem "comcasts". Went into Verizon twice, still no answer.
Saw a post to backup phone to i tunes, which I did to save the data and apps and then rebuilt the original factory defaults. I am not an internet genius either. Nothing worked for more than a few minutes. I deleted cookies, re entered email account many many times. No answer. I also tried putting emails from that date into a folder on my computer in case they were "corrupted". I think I've tried everything and nothing lasted for more than a few minutes. I have all the current versions of software from Verizon and Apple.
Ok now I went to Comcast website where they talk about the ports in your apple mail accounts, They say sometimes you have to set your incoming server to 995 but sometimes you should also try 110 and turn ssl to "off"., I still have the outgoing port to 587 but all of a sudden I'm receiving new emails and the number is now up to 400 instead of 200. Coincidence?? So one account has the original settings and I've not had a problem receiving current emails and the one I just changed the ports don't match the other comcast email but it works. Not sure but now I do have current emails.

I think that's great news??????
I have searched Comcast's website to no avail. Can you provide the link you found the portal info on?
My incoming is OK, it's my outgoing that all of a sudden stopped working. My husband has an Apple iPhone on AT&T network and has had absolutely no problem...... however he has way too many dropped calls and 'no service' areas for me to switch from Verizon.
Thanks!

Sure here's the Comcast link customer.comcast.com/help-and-support/internet/ema
I'm curious to see if other people who have had problems receiving "current" emails from comcast to an iphone 4s can get things going.

Try the fix I found which calls for changing your email ports to 110 on the incoming server, and then changing the outgoing port to 587 and the SSL leave it unchecked. I had two email accounts from Comcast and Verizon was the carrier. Only one email was coming through with current emails the second one was fine. I tried everything including resetting all the original factory settings via backing up onto itunes and saving my apps and then reloading but that didn't help. Tried resetting all the network settings.
Also, when my email came in I was advised by Comcast tier 2 support to turn off and then on my iphone as the email that was loaded only had two lines and wasn't fully downloading. AFter I turned the power off and powered up it started populating as usual and has worked now with my iphone 4s and ipad like a dream.

has anyone thought to call the A.G.c's office in Mass? My wife having the same issue on her iPhone 4s. Std pop3 email client not working, and Comcast support trying to push her to download the xfinity app now that we've been switched to "xfinity connect" service... Btw, my old pop3mail client on my Samsung Galaxy Android still works fine.. Another attempt to foist a crummy, nonperformant app on customers to sell more advertising? The portal sucks, so heavily laden with ads and tracking sw it slows or chokes all but the fastest laptops, so it wouldn't be a surprise if they tried to control customer eyeballs on mobile devices as well...

I just setup the mail on my Iphone with comcast to test, went fine.
You probably need to delete the profile for your comcast and re-add.
Recently some ports were closed because of Security issues.
When you re-add the account it should get the "Recommended Settings" seen below.
