In March of this year, a lightning surge fried my tv and cable box. However, my tv was plugged into a surge protector, so the surge must have come through the cable. A Comcast representative came to my house and replaced my box (with a standard def box instead of an HD, like the one I had) and said that I would be contacted regarding my damage claim. I've called multiple times, but no one has helped me out or given me information about the status of my claim. Is there anyway to get faster customer service from this company that "guarantees" excellent customer service??

Was is plugged into a surge protector or a power strip? Was the cable box also plugged into it as well, you say just the tv. I don't think your going to get anything for an act of god, you probably need to notify insurance.
Even if you had a good surge protector a powerful strike can still get through it. Is your cable tv or your home grounded?
