So all I wanted to do was to turn in 2 digital adapters and receive 1 Motorola DCX-700, so I call customer support and they recommend I go to my nearest Comcast Customer Support Office which is about ½ hour away. So I go there & I find it strange that I see people pulling up and leaving… then I walked in and see why. I grabbed a number and I was #61….the “Comcast Customer Support Team” was on #24. So I waited 10-minutes and yet not one number had changed, so I walked out and immediately jumped on the phone with customer support (again). I was assured that they would send me out the DCX700 and a return label for the adapters.
So after 4-5 days I received this large box which contained a large DVR cable box…which I didn’t request, nor do I want because I don’t use these features and furthermore the desk space isn’t available. So once again I call customer support and I (again) was assured that they would request the DCX700 for me and send me out a return label for the other box.
So the new box arrives today, and behold…. It’s the same VCR sized cable box I now have 2 of!!! Is there no communication, care for quality, or literate people who can actually read an order slip in the warehouse? Not trying to be mean, but when my employees can’t do their job, they get fired?!?
I have a running total of 10- gallons of gas & 2 hours invested in this project “Get DCX700 Cable Box” while Comcast must have about 1-2 man hours and about $110+ in shipping labels... all of this to receive a simple cable box?? It’s no wonder costs go up every year, take my case and multiple it by how many customers??
So in closing, Comcast…please stop advertising so much and use that money to take care of your current customers in the way of lower costs and support!! This is the last straw with me; you’re simply not worth the hassle. Oh, did I mention… every time I call, the lovely “support team” tries to get me to buy into another bundle or phone service. Are you kidding?? Do your first job correctly.

There is no such thing as a DCX700.
DCX's are 3400's or 3501's all HD DVR's, or DCX3200 or DCX3200P2 HD full cable box.

The DCT700's are hard to come by since they are so old. Some regions no longer have them available. Where I am outside Chicago they were hard to get over 2 years ago once the DCH70 came out.
Unless your local office gets some from the warehouse, you will continue to find it difficult to acquire one. The newer replacement is the DCH70 which is larger. You might need to sweet talk them into finding you one.
Comcast hasn't been purchasing any std def boxes in a couple of years already.

Thank you for the insight.... at least now I know, but then again, why couldn't the Comcast Service Rep(s) inform of this same information rather than confirming they will order it for me? thank you again
