Last Thursday had to have tech visit to swap out problematic, leased cable modem. Besides gazillions of modem log errors, I had LITERALLY no upload speed ... on any testing site: Speakeasy, Speedtest OR ShaperProbe (preferred by folks on the Connectivity forums). Oh - and tech said the modem logs "don't mean anything".
Had to BEG tech to swap modem because he said "oh, those sites just aren't running upload tests now." ??? Four sites and NONE running upload tests? Swapped modem and claimed he activated it.
TODAY, no internet and took me to the Comcast activation page. After 5 calls to Comcast, got nice lady who said the tech had NOT fully activated the modem for my account !!!!!
I have swapped modems before many times; NEVER have I had these problems. At the risk of sounding whiney, I am 60 years old with a moderate heart condition. This tech was something from another planet.
Thanks for listening.

You didn't say, Did the new modem fix your problem? If not, Call back and hope for a better tech.

Not sure if problem is sorted correctly. At the moment, maybe "yes" as I'm on line and VOIP works.
Odd modem logs (well, odd to me). Paws crossed: don't want to have to call and all that if I dont' have to do so.

Don't focus too much on the modem logs. My logs show too many errors to count and my internet works fine.

This is true except in the cases where someone is actually having connectivity issues, which she is..
