I have a solution... don't! I literally jumped through hoops to get internet from this company of thieves. I was lied to by both phone and face to face representatives. Each told me different processes and prices for service. Then after owning my own modem they wanted to rob me of $50 and require a person to come to my house and plug in 3 wires. I was basically forced to rent their equipment to do a self installation. Then the activaiton process requires me to install some modem communication blah blah... and it clears the settings from ALL of my browsers and steals my cookies. A "supervisor" does nothing to help by telling me how to revert back to default settings. Why in the world would I want it any other way than the way I had it?
Once competitors are able to break up this monopolistic company they will have no customers left.
TL;DR - Don't get Xfinity/Comcast, stick with FiOS or any other competitor. Better support with less than 1/2 the hassle.
