Re: Free ipod....i dont think so

Same problem as everyone else. Signed up in August. No iPod.

Called customer support and they said go to the district office. Went to the district office and they said they didn't handle that kind of thing. Any ideas? Has anyone out there gotten their iPod?

@ Andrew J:

Have you called the Retention Department about this promotion?  Has your issue been resolved?

Why should Comcast customers expect to recieve a call?  Shouldn't they expect to recieve what is promised?

Hello - have you called customer service to follow-up on your order? Fulfilment of the order should never take this long.

I signed up for the Triple Play Package with HD in mid-July and have also never received my free IPod Touch as well. I called Comcast within a month of the start of service and was told it would be shipped to my residence but I never received it.

IPOD Touch Scam

I have been getting the run around from Comcast in regards to the free ipod touch. We signed up for service in August and were told that we would receive it in 90 days if paid on time. I started calling Comcast Mid November and as of today I still have not received the ipod touch. After numerous call/hours spent on the phone one of the reps told me that we never signed a contract, I too remember being switched over to an automated service that was supposed to have completed the contract. Finally, in February I spoke to a "supervisor" Luis Guiterrez who assured me that he would get to the bottom of it and worst case scenario provide me with a bill credit. I was told he would call me the following week and even gave me a direct #, what good is that if he never returns your calls?

Then 2/23 I was told by Gloria x72148 that I would receive it within 10 bus days...what a bunch of BS! I am actually on hold now with Comcast (so far a 40 min call) and this is the last opportunity! I am tired of this BS and AT&T is offering $300 to switch back. Although I am happy with the actual cable service I feel like I have been completely scammed. I can see from other posts that IO am not the only one that is having this problem. The rep now is telling me that she is sending a ticket to the help desk...anyone care to take a guess how many ticket #'s I have? Total BS...at least AT&T are honorable and give rebates instead of lies!!!!

Re: IPOD Touch Scam

I called again today to check the status of my "Free Ipod".  The rep said that he can see where it has been requested but that I would need to call  (800) 526-3268 to check the status.  I called and they are only open during the week.  The recorded message did say that I could check the status on line at the following address:

http://www.checkmyrebate.com/comcastgift/status.asp

Amazingly when I enter in my info it returns an error of "no record found" .  I guess I'll have to call the number on Monday to really check the status.

Re: iPod issues

I signed up in July 2010 for the promotion of the iPod with the bundle service and a contract for 2 years....8 months later still no iPod.  I have called Comast atleast once a week if not more and spent countless hours on the phone, most of the time on hold, have been told that someone will contact me and have yet for ANYONE to call me back.  I have kept up my part of the contract but Comcast is in breech of their part.  If I do not receive the iPod I will not be keeping a 2 year agreement!!  This is the first time I have used Comcast and it will be the last!!  This company doesn't care about their customers!!  I had Charter for the last 14 years before I moved to GA and NEVER had a problem, atleast they call their customers back and take care of the problems!!  I am fed up with this company|!!

Re: iPod issues

Moved to San Mateo in early August, signed up for the IPOD Touch / Triple Play promo. Made several calls to check on the status of the IPOD, each time was told it takes at least 3 months. When this time period went by made more calls and was eventually told there was no such promotion and I would get nothing. Extremely frustrated, and would like to resolve this.

Happy to provide all the specifics. Please advise.

Re: iPod issues

Got a call today from Comcast....I was told there was a mix up in the computer about the iPod I was suppose to receive and they are no longer giving them out but will give me $200.00, which is what they are offering for a promotion right now.  If they don't screw people out of that too.  What a lame excuse for one, for two when you offer something then honor it!!  The CEO of this company needs to go on "Undercover Boss" and see just what is going on and how the customers are being treated. I will definately not recommend Comcast to anyone!!

Re: iPod issues

I don't know who to contact, and I am considering contacting my local news, so they can take over for me, and tell my story on tv. I have tried and tried to get the ipod we were promised back in August 2010. We signed up for a 2 year contract, we have done everything we are supposed to do and Comcast has broken their end of the agreement. They keep telling me it is on its way but when I call the gift line they tell me they have not gotten the consent from Comcast to send it out. I feel totally betrayed and disgusted with comcast, and I am considering switching to WOW if they can give me a better deal. At least they uphold their agreements. Can someone please help me get this ipod? I am making a last ditch effort before I contact our local news. Considering I am finding a TON of posts from others saying the same problems of not getting the promised offers, I think the news would be QUITE interested. This isn't good advertising for comast, to say the least, that they don't uphold their contracts.

Re: iPod issues

I have the same problem. I signed up in August and now it is May and no Ipod. Apparently they 'stopped processing them' two weeks before they got confirmation of my account.

Is this standard operating procedure for Comcast? There seem to be many complaints of this nature and it does not reflect well on the company's ability to retain the customers they have lured in with seemingly false promises.

What are my options at this point other than a "$200 credit" to my account?

Re: iPod issues

Similar problem here as well. Initially signed up for Comcast cable, internet, and telephone service back in August 2010. The representative at the time told me that I had the option for either an Apple IPod Touch or $200.00. That if I remained a customer in good standing that I would receive the item I selected, I-Pod Touch, in the latter part of November. So of course its slips my mind in November, and I end up calling about the missing item in December 2010. I speak with the representative and the young lady tells me there is a website that you can check the status of your rebate. The young lady and I check it together and for some odd reason my name or account doesn't show up or anything. So the representative is nice enough to send a request to the advertising / promotions section to obtain feedback as to what's going on. She tells me give the department approximately 10 days to respond. Hearing no response or anything I contact customer service again in January 2011, to determine what's taking place. This time I ask to speak a supervisor, and the representative tells me some lie that there are none around. That I should give the department more time to respond to the issue. At the end of January 2011, I contact Comcast customer service and request to speak to a supervisor. This time the supervisor is nice enough to listen to my issue and provide feedback. She informs she will look into the issue and contact me personally with the next few days. Days later she calls me back and informs me the original request was never processed. That for some reason, the order at that was never authenticated. Which makes you ask the question, how do I have service then. None the less we continue the process of authenticating the request, which does not go right. When I call back to inform the service representative, I am informed that it did. Weeks later I call back again, and the next representative informs me that it did not go through, and guides me through the process personally. Now that was March. I received a call back from Comcast April 4th, informing that the I-Pod would be arriving in 4-5 weeks. At the end of April, week 4 I called Comcast again telling them I am still missing the I-Pod. The representative tells me they still have another week, call back on Friday. I waited two more weeks and call Comcast, speak to a supervisor who refers the issue again to promotions and tells me to wait for a response.

So I inform my personal counsel, yes I have counsel, and she calls May 28, 2011, and basically asks what wrong. The service representative of course can't answer the question. Request is  made to speak with the manager or principal officer on duty. The representative has no clue as to who it is. The representative then searches the internet to obtain the name of the Vice President of Comcast Cable Operations, and states she will refer to the issue up the chain.

All I want is my I-Pod that was promised. In actuality Comcast should provide an additional credit to the customers that have to go through all this for a promotional item they offered and promised.

Re: iPod issues

Today I received a call from a Comcast Customer Liason, stating that she was investigating the issue of my missing iPod. Then later in this afternoon she called again to inform me that Comcast no longer has the iPods that they were orginally offerring customers. That apparently more individuals opted for the iPods than originally expected and they did not have the needed supply available.

So basically, as I explained to the young lady, Comcast promoted this offer. Then when they, Comcast, realized they did not have the needed supplied, they chose to not inform customers. I guess Comcast assumed we would forget that we were owed this item. But if you had not, they would ignore you until you gave up or escalated the issue to management.

You would think management would send an intern out to purchase one and mail it, to close the issue.

iPod issues

I'm receiving the same problems as everyone else.  I enrolled with Comcast on 8/1/11 for the two year plan with Triple Play.  I called in the fall and they told me I would have to wait to be a customer for 90 days and then I would receive it.  After 90 days, called again and they said I was eligible and should receive it soon.

Needless to say, it is June (almost a year later).  I've called several phone numbers and used Comcast Chat multiple times and now they are telling me I am not eligible and that I didn't sign up for the "correct" triple play?  What!?

Can someone please escalate this and contact me?

Re: iPod issues

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread, the constructive information was helpful.

I'm having the same problem, signed up in July 2010 still no iPod. Called customer service and they couldnt authenticate me becuase I never recieved a mail with a PIN. Said they would resend my PIN, waited 2 months and called back as I never recieved it. A clever gentelman in the call center sorted the issue out in minutes, unfortunatly I cant remember his name but kudos to him. I got the link to the site: http://www.checkmyrebate.com/comcastgift/status.asp logged in and it shows that they recieved the request for my iPod on May 17, 2011 and shipping details would be updated shortly...... 9 months after it was supposed to be ordered. In any case I was happy that it looked like it was progressing and figured it would arrive in a couple weeks and all is good. Wait for it...... 2 months later and the site still says recieved request: May 17th, 2011, and shipping details will be updated shortly. I dont know that thier idea of shortly is but wow. So now after reading this thread it gets really interesting.

So now I read that Comcast is no longer offering the iPod touch and is offering service credits or other things in this thread. So my issue is, the value of an iPod touch a year ago is vastly different than it is now both in the market and for me. I have spent nearly a year going on with my life for only a portion of a service I have been paying full price for. If comcast really value's thier customers they would accept that this program has been a failure for some. I'm sure in the overall picture its actually (or I would hope) a very few of us that actually had this issue.

So it should have been a simple and easy process for Comcast to proactively get in touch with us and discuss options to resolve this when they uncovered the issue, do you think they know where we live and maybe even have our phone numbers/contact information.... Instead, no resources are expended being proactive and uncovering identifying customers who arent getting what they were promissed, issues arent delt with until customers take the initiative to complain. You want to deliver good customer service, its easy its not specific to comcast:

Listen, Communicate, Deliver, Innovate, Empower. Rinse and repeat.

Re: iPod issues

It really isn't surprising to see such a long list of people who were stiffed on their iPods from last year's "promotion."  It took an extensive amount of effort to get ours and here's the story.

Back in July 2010 we put in a call to get Comcast hooked up at a new residenceThey were offering the Triple Play package with a free iPod Touch and we took itUnfortunately it ended up requiring 6-7 phone calls and 4 service trips with 5 different techs to get everything installed over a month-long period. Beyond that, Comcast still sent the wrong boxes (non-HDDVR when we requested 2 HDDVR) which required a trip down to the local office to get them exchanged.

Unfortunately those boxes were also botched and needed replacement.

During this process we put in the over-the-phone confirmation for the iPodHowever upon attempting confirmation that the iPod would be sent out in August, after the promotion had ended, we were told that our July purchase (well within the time frame of the promotion) was no longer eligible for the free iPod TouchBull.

So we kept calling backFinally we got a second over-the-phone automated confirmation script to go through that would "ensure" the iPod's arrivalAgain after another callback to confirm the order for the iPod not only was there no record of the transaction, but again we were exempt from the promotion entirely because of the timing of the call.

We tried every option available to figure out what happened. We escalated from basic tech to manager over and over againFinally after a couple weeks, I think this was around mid-August, we had a breakthrough talking to an online customer support rep. who forwarded us to a more local California area managerThis was who we needed to talk to from the beginning.

She got everything straightened out including sending us one of the new 4th gen. iPod Touch models, got us brand new boxes shipped from the factory, and gave us her direct line to round out any other issues in the future

I'm not saying Comcast tried to stiff us, but certain representatives of Comcast certainly tried to deliberately screw us over by having us jump through hoop after hoop.

So to those of you who haven't received your iPods from this promotion, my advice is to continue your pursuit -- most especially if they tell you that you are somehow ineligible for the promotion because it isn't in their records or that the promotion period has passed and they no longer have the authorityThat person might not, but escalate high enough and you'll find the person who does

From my years of experience with Comcast, the absolute worst thing you can do is let it go until someone contacts youBe proactive and you'll have a better shot at getting what you were promised.

Re: iPod issues

I signed up for a two year contract in July 2010 under the ipod touch promotion.  My contract is less than 4 months from expiring and I still have not received my Ipod touch.  In 2011, I called Customer Service, who then transferred me to Retention in which they said that they were going to email Marketing and I should receive an email soon.  I never received a call or an email. I called Retention Department 6 times.  I called Customer Service again recently, and Customer Service assured me that Marketing would call me and I still did not receive call or an email.

I am very discouraged and disapointed in Comcast and their treatment of valuable customers.  I fulfilled my part of the agreement by signing on and completing a two year agreement ( which they failed to send me a copy of my contract and inform me that the prices would increase by 30 dollars in the 2nd year) and yet is okay for the company to disregard their obligation/ promotion by sending me my ipod without going through a perpetual wild goose chase.

Can anyone advise me on how to retrieve my ipod touch or annul this contract.  ASAP

I have the same issue. I called the retention number, they said nothing can be done after first telling me that the Ipod offer never existed. This was aug 2010, it's now december 2012, and they haven't done anything but lie to me. I'm going to call for the 100th time and see if there is a change.
