i have never been so angry in my life.
last week, i called to request a self-installation kit for my move. i told the rep on the phone that i was moving in a month, and he asked where the kit should be sent.
i told him to please have it shipped to my work address since i am not home during the day. he took my work address, confirmed it, and great - all set. or so i thought...
over the weekend i got the "shipment confirmed!" email. to the house we haven't closed on yet, and are not moving to until the beginning of AUGUST. called "customer service," and the guy in India told me he could not help me. UPS won't help me because i am not the shipper.
i call again on Monday... get a woman in India this time. she claims she has requested UPS to return the shipment to Comcast.
i check the tracking information today... the package has been delivered to the address i am moving to. ON THE FRONT PORCH OF THE EMPTY HOUSE WE HAVEN'T CLOSED ON YET. guess the woman in India lied to me.
call customer service now for the fourth time. she actually asks me if i can drive to the address where it was shipped... again... no i cannot. i work. puts me on on hold for a few minutes, and comes back and claims a technician will pick up the shipment TOMORROW. so... the Comcast equipment sits on the porch of a house where nobody lives... on a main street... and it's raining. i will have no proof that a tech has picked up the equipment, and i can only anticipate that i will get a bill for unreturned equipment at some point because of THEIR screw up.
i am terminating my service with Comcast when we move. i am so dissatisfied with this. if they couldn't have the equipment shipped to my work address, they should have told me that last week. or called me when they were processing the order instead of changing the address on the order. and i can't get back the three hours I have spent on the phone trying to resolve this because of someone's incompetence at Comcast.
idiots.

really?! thanks, Roger. That is most helpful.
I gave the new address when i called Comcast to inform them that we would be moving and when the move would be effective. That is how you get the self-installation move kit.
I am not going to drive to a house on MY personal time I do not own yet and take things off the front porch.
The woman in India? She said she called UPS to have the package intercepted and returned to Comcast. Considering Comcast was the shipper, I don't think that asking Comcast to do Comcast's job and fix their clerical error is asking too much.
