The old Comcast homepage did support modification, but the new comcast homepage doesn't - except for the Assistant.
And, to add insult to injury, Comcast has kept the instructions on modifying comcast.net in their Help files. The help file cheerily instructs the user to click on the "Modify Page" button in the top-right on the screen and follow the instructions. There is no "Modify Page" button. When I called Comcast the Help Desk person said it was the first time anyone had asked her about such a feature and didn't think that Comcast had ever supported modification.
Currently, you can customize the Assistant on the homepage by doing the following:

YES! Do as I do and just use Yahoo as your home page.
