Beginning yesterday (6/30) at 8:00PM, we have been unable to open e-mails on Comcast.net. We can get into the account, see the unread e-mails but can't open them (the wheel keeps spinning). We have also tried to click on see all e-mails with the same result. I saw someone else had the same problem. Comcast Rep had me clean out cookies, reset everything but to no avail.
Did Comcast do something last night? Anyone else having same issue as of 7/30 or has resolved it. Am calling Corp office when they open at 8:30 AM EST

07-31-2012 08:07 AM
Just received 2 E Mail messages about this peoblem, BUT I CAN'T OPEN THEM!!!!!!!!!!!
07-31-2012 08:21 AM
Update ----- IT IS STILL SPINNING COMCAST !!! I'm losing money by the minute.
07-31-2012 08:23 AM
I have no phone service and can't open or respond to emails, 7/31, when will it be fixed?
07-31-2012 08:29 AM
As a work-around try this for mail access http://m.comcast.net/m/
It's very barebones but maybe it will work for you.
Comcast employees must be authorized to post in the forum. Employees posting here have their names in red and are designated as employees. Names not in red are customers.
07-31-2012 08:36 AM
DUH! How about Comcast fixes the problem instead?
07-31-2012 08:38 AM
Having same problem here too!
07-31-2012 08:40 AM
Another option: Install and configure an email client to work with Comcast mail servers.
Xfinity Connect has constant problems. With an email client you don't have to deal with the problems.
As for http://m.comcast.net/m/ it's your choice whether or not to try it and use it, if it works, until the problem is resolved.

All:
My problem is now fixed. Not sure how. I open an e-mail that was previously open and it re-opened. Then, I closed the e-mail and it brought me to the full e-mail listing. Clicked on the unopened e-mail and it opened. I now can open all new e-mails.
07-31-2012 08:51 AM
Every time I try to login to check email online, I get re-directed to http://xfinity.comcast.net/errors/unauthorized/ . I am able to get mail on my phone, but it is not removing messages from the server anymore, so it keeps downloading the same email over and over. I used to be able to login online and delete email... not able to do that for several days now.
07-31-2012 08:52 AM
I tried that. No luck here!
07-31-2012 08:57 AM
Just got off online chat with Xfinity.. Here is their response..

Thank-my e-mail is now working. I do believe it is a Comcast problem.
07-31-2012 09:55 AM
Same problem Can't open or go to entire e-mail Has to be a system problem
07-31-2012 10:18 AM
Also, in addition to clearing cache, cookies and temporary internet files, please also try resetting the browser to the default settings. You should first back up all of your favorites and bookmarks so you can reimport them later.
07-31-2012 10:44 AM
I am having the same issue. Been trying since last night and still can't open mail. I cleaned out history and temp files and cookies and still no expansion of email files.
07-31-2012 11:31 AM
I figure I'll jump on the band-wagon of users who can not open/read their email ... it is very frustrating. For me, I haven't been able to open mine since yesterday afternoon, my computer operates on Windows Vista Home Premium and my browser is Internet Explorer 9. I've tried the suggested resolutions herein, but, still get the blank page with UNDEFINED on the tab. Definitely a Comcast issue/problem ...
07-31-2012 11:41 AM
I'm updating the list of troubleshooting steps:
Please try these in order and reply back with results ...
1) Try a different browser
2) On the browser with the issue, try clearing cache, cookies and temporary internet files
3) Reset browser to the default settings (backup favorites and bookmarks first)
4) Load a different skin:
ex1: http://web.mail.comcast.net/zimbra/mail?app=mail&s
ex2: http://web.mail.comcast.net/zimbra/mail?app=mail&s
ex3: http://web.mail.comcast.net/zimbra/mail?app=mail&s
These will help us narrow down where the issue is and what needs to be fixed.
In the meantime, these temporary workarounds should allow you to get into your mail inbox:
Lite version (html version): http://web.mail.comcast.net/h/search
Mobile version (barebones version): http://m.comcast.net

I too cannot open my emails. I haved tried the steps listed and have had no luck! Very frustrating!
07-31-2012 12:26 PM
Am having same problem, have had this problem before.
07-31-2012 12:56 PM
Is this going to be fixed anytime soon, been having this problem for a week now.
07-31-2012 01:03 PM
It's working now, thank you.
07-31-2012 01:35 PM
Tried all 3 of the skins, the first 2(yahoo & lake#1) loaded a screen that displayed a box in the center(collaboration Suite), the 3ed, velodrome would not load and displayed the "undefined" on the tab. I did the temp workaround and could access my email with that :/ Hope this info helps ...
07-31-2012 02:50 PM
Same problem can not open. The work around posted did work. Please get this fixed
07-31-2012 04:45 PM
I also have been having the same problem and cannot open emails since yesterday.....just as you explained the little wheel just keeps turning. Did you have any luck to a solution???? Thanks
07-31-2012 04:54 PM
I can't open email on Comcast? I thought I was the only one having this problem until I read this forum, does anyone no what's up? Help!
07-31-2012 04:55 PM
We are having the same problem too! Wheels are just spinning! We also experienced issues with the TV this morning where the picture kept strobing. Came home for lunch, same thing. When I reset the TV box that seemed to fix it. I then couldn't get online so reset that box. Finally got online but still can't open email. Oh yeah - and my phone keeps going in and out. I can hear people but they can't hear me. Really enjoying this bundle!
07-31-2012 06:18 PM
That work around is a good one! Thanks!

I haven't been able to open Comcast email all day. I now have an email from Comcast that I can't open! Preview window shows an email with subject line saying "Important Service Announcement" from Xfinity. How ironic is that?! I am also unable to open my Voice Mail.
08-01-2012 06:41 AM
Still no progress this morning! I have a few new emails from last night that I am able to receive and read on my phone, but, they never were delivered to my inbox on my home computer.
08-01-2012 07:44 AM
I've been having this exact same problem for two days now... and I'm a Mac user! So it's NOT the Windows OS or IE9.
I use an old OS (Snow Leopard)
with the current version of Google Chrome.
I miss my old Comcast email before Zimbra and Xfinity Connect came with a million errors. :'(
And for the random Comcast employees who may be lurking... Yes I cleared my history, browser cache, cookies, restarted my browser, restarted my computer, checked my system for new updates AND turned the whole machine completely off for at least an hour.
I have come to the astonishing conclusion that this problem will not magically fix itself.
08-01-2012 07:56 AM
The problem seemed to begin for me last week. I contacted CS yesterday and was told that this was identified as a national problem yesterday. Nonetheless---over a week for me.
'We know it is a problem and we are working on it---no idea of when/if it will be resolved...' said Comcast CS.
I said, 'Thanks.'
I cannot access my email again today, August 1, 2012.
What does Comcast advise.
Just be patient?
Again.
08-01-2012 10:22 AM
When is this problem going to be fixed? Comcast has had several days to get this sorted,
08-01-2012 10:33 AM
TC08742 - are you having the 'spinning circle' issue when trying to access your email inbox? If not, can you provide additional details about what the issue is?
08-01-2012 10:58 AM
Can anyone please give a clue to when this is going to be fixed? Email will load, but when you go to view entire inbox locks up or sometimes just a spinning circle. Please get this fixed.

We have found that in addition to clearing cache and cookies, please try to turn on compatibility view.
Go to Tools -> "Compatibility View", then try to go from the inbox preview to the email tab.
Please let me know if that fixes the issue.
We pushed a fix last night which looked like it fixed the issue for most people, but there are still some lingering issues that we are seeing.
