Deleted web email still downloaded by POP access after deletion.

When on vacation, I will use the web interface and mobile applications to look at my email and delete all the spam that comcast cannot catch.  After returning home and launching MS Outlook (OS X and windows in the past), it will download all the email received over the two weeks, including the ones explictedly deleted.  I've gone so far as last night (before the Outlook synch) to purge the Trash in the web interface.

This is not the delete in two places AFTER performing the POP synch with MS Outlook.  I purposely deleted on the web PRIOR to the POP synch.

Is there an IMAP setting I'm just not seeing (which means, it is right in front of my face)?  Or is there a "Trash" issue with the Comcast servers?  Or (worse yet), is the Comcast email service already a copy of the original email, and the server still has the original copy for another IMAP client, or a POP download?

I'll look at the IMAP point of view again with that in mind, but any extra insight would be helpful.

Is it possible that your Outlook is configured to download automtically at specified times?

Good question.  Normally, yes, it would perform the download (POP) every 10 minutes.  However, the machine was turned off while accessing (and deleting) via the android app and the web interface.

thanks

Comcast does not currently offer IMAP service.

Is it possible you were accessing your email as an external account from a different Comcast account?

There was a thread a number of months ago where someone else was reporting that deleted email was being downloaded to his client. But I really can't see how this could happen. Xfinity Connect provides a direct view of what's on the server, and POP can only download what's on the server.
