Re: Email access

if you updated the app there are issues.  Try deleting it, then restart your device then reinstall then try again.

Re: Email access

I started this question and apologized after the reply I received thinking I was posting in the mobile email forum.

I then went to the Xfinity chat help but to no avail unless I wanted them to access my personal email. So back to square one in trying to find a solution as to why all the sudden Comcast will not allow me to access my email. I can see the email intro but I am unable to "view entire email box". This is a copy of the link that is displayed at the bottom of the screen -  javascript:deepLink(0); .I have attempted to access thru both Mozilla & IE.  Any ideas on what I can do ?  wondering  why this would happen all of the sudden? It has only been about 24 hours but I do need to read / reply to emails asap. thanks to any insights given.

Re: Email access

By the way, if you are emailing me - obviously not a solution because I cannot access my email, just saying...

Re: Email access

There have been on going issues for some Users trying to access their email with XfinityConnect.  Some things that have worked for some, not all Users are:

Clear your browser cache  (which browser/version are you using?)

Reset your browser to the default settings

IF you are able to access Preferences in XC, tery switching to the Lite version if using the full version  (To check:  Click Preferences.General)

If none of these work for you, do post back and we can escalate for you.

In the meantime, if you still cannot get in, you can use the very, very basic www.m.comcast.net to read your email and reply.  There are limited features available with it though.

Did you try any of the other suggestions, such as resetting your browser to the default settings?  Also, have you tried another browser?

Re: Email access

this is what I get from clicking on your link:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

 What you can try:

 Diagnose Connection Problems

 More information

This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:

  • Internet connectivity has been lost.
  • The website is temporarily unavailable.
  • The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
  • The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
  • There might be a typing error in the address.
  • If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section.

For offline users

You can still view subscribed feeds and some recently viewed webpages.
To view subscribed feeds

  1. Click the Favorites Center button , click Feeds, and then click the feed you want to view.

To view recently visited webpages (might not work on all pages)

  1. Click Tools , and then click Work Offline.
  2. Click the Favorites Center button , click History, and then click the page you want to view.

looks like it is on your end Comcast, this is what I got :

Contact the service provider or owner of the remote system for further assistance, or try again later

website (sz0097.ev.mail.comcast.net) is online but isn't responding to connection attempts.

The remote computer isn’t responding to connections on port 80, possibly due to firewall or security policy settings, or because it might be temporarily unavailable. Windows couldn’t find any problems with the firewall on your computer.

Re: Email access

I can see you have sent me 4 emails in a short period of time but I CANNOT READ THEM since they WILL NOT OPEN. I will be back shortly since I am unable to get any work done thru email and when I come back to check my email later I will hopefully be able to access it. thanks ahead of time for hopefully fixing this problem, as I see I am not the only one .

What you received are not emails from me, they are simply email notifications to you, letting you know that I have replied to your posts in your thread.

Did you check your firewall and your security settings in your browser?  How did you obtain what you posted above?  I assume you must have gotten this whjen attempting to go to the webpage?

Re: Email access

Try this:

1. Shutdown ALL browser windows.

2. Start one browser window.

3. In that window, go to:

               http://xfinityconnect.mail.comcast.net/

4. If you are asked to login, do so.

5. This should land you on the XFINITY Connect page where you can see your Inbox preview.  Does it?

6. If so, don't touch anything and in your address bar go directly to:

               http://web.mail.comcast.net/zimbra/mail?app=mail#1

7.  What happens now?  On my system, I get dropped in a full view of my Comcast inbox

8.  Be very specific and precise when reporting errors.  We need to know the EXACT URL address showing in the Address field, what hte page says, what brower and version you are using, what OS and version you are using, and anything else that seems pertinent.

Exactly, if I replied to something you posted it was not intentional, I know that Comcast is checking these postings and that is whom I was addressing.

Re: Email access

No they have not.  The weird thing is some Users are having trouble and others are not.  I haven't had any trouble, byt sympathize with those that do.

I will notify the Administrator.  He will probably contact you via Private message (small white envelope at the top of the page will turn yellow)  It may be a few days though, he doesn't work weekends.

If none of the suggestions we have offered have not help, there is nothing more we can suggest to you.

Are you saying that when you go the URL I provided in #6, that the URL changes to the one you posted?  This type of URL usually only shows up in the bottom left corner when you hover the mouse pointer over a link.  What happens if you go to http://sz0097.wc.mail.comcast.net ?  Are you sure you have cleared your browser cache and cookies?  I recommend shutting down all browser windows, start one up, clear the cache and cookies and then restart the browser again.

Re: Email access

Emails coming through since yesterday but still have nothing from Friday going back. Chat people have told me that they only have 3 days and that ends today. Guess I lost it all and they are no help whatsoever. Now I know why so many people go to gmail.

How much are they going to give me for all of my lost information?

Re: Email access

Thank goodness for Outlook , I was able to retrieve my email. Very strange for this to happen to so many people and bug has not been given enough attention. And I am upset that I have such a huge bill for internet and yet this happens. I did get a new modem recently from them but this problem did not happen until a few weeks after that so ?? .

It worked! Guess I mixed up the link or ? so thank you. I attempted to enter my email again and the same thing happened - nothing and I was dropped from network.

Guess I will have to keep your link on hand in order to check my email or ? if you can elaborate on what this means and what I should do regarding comcast please let me know. You at least were the key to opening my email and I appreciate your outstanding help :smileyhappy: .
