Email deleting?

I'm having problems with my comcast inbox deleting all my emails. I checked my preferences settings and no matter what i click on 30 days 120 days or never. My inbox self deletes? Can anyone help me? I waited for 53 minutes on the phone only to have the customer rep hang up cause she couldn't hear me.

If all your emails are being deleted from your Inbox, I would immediately change your password.

Immediately change you password. Use a strong password between 8 and 16 characters in length, consisting of a random mix of upper and lower case letters, numbers, and special characters. Do not use this password anywhere else!!

Are the other Folders also having messages deleted from them?  (Sent- Draft- Trash, etc.)???

Do you also use an email clientm, such as Windows Live Mail, Outlook, etc??

Post back if this does not resolve the problem.  Send yourself a test message and see if it deleted.

Re: Email deleting?

This happens to me too. I've tried the obvious--unsynching my iPhone, my MacMail (customer service was very helpful, but this didn't solve the problem). I changed my auto-delete preferences to 120 days or Never. In the same way that Comcast has accidentally deletd this as I've typed it three times now with it's  "autosave" function, I think there is simply a glitch in Comcast mail that is causing it to delete my messages whenever my inbox exceeds 34 messages, I have no space constraints. I've started using Gmail (Imap instead of POP) but really like my Comcast account. Let me know if you have a suggestion!

Re: Email deleting?

My suggestion is that you start using a real email client like Windows Live Mail or Thunderbird.  That way you bypass the Comcast preview page, and the login page.  The client will down load the messages whether you're logged on or not.  Make sure you set the client to leave a copy of the emails on the server for a back-up.

I'm on a Mac and I use Thunderbird for my Comcast email account.  On my Windows 7 laptop I use WLM.  But just to eliminate the browser as the problem,  you should try using a different one.  Are you using IE now?  If so, try with Firefox or Chrome.  You could also just clear out all your browser cache, including cookies and see if that solves it.  There is  a sticky thread at the top of this forum that has instructions on how to do that.
