Forwarding from Bigfoot

Because of the constant changes in cable companies, ISPs, etc. I long ago starting using Bigfoot as my email address, which then forwards to my primary email account (now @comcast.net). All of a sudden this afternoon, I am hearing that emails to me are bouncing, with people receiving the error:

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

XXXXXXX@comcast.net on 7/2/2003 X:XXx PM
The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this message was sent to. Check the e-mail address, or contact the recipient directly to find out the correct address.
< bflitemail1a.bigfoot.com #5.1.1 SMTP; 550 64.15.239.131 blocked by blacklist.mail.ops.asp.att.net. -> Blocked for spam abuse - 2003/07/01>

Is Comcast deliberately blocking email forwarded from Bigfoot?

Re: Forwarding from Bigfoot

Yes!!

Comcast is blocking all email from Bigfoot as SPAM.

I too (as well as hundreds of others I'm sure) am having this same problem. I tested this out from work a while ago and sure enough, the bigfoot addressed email never makes it. ATTBI & Comcast addressed email does!

I guess we need to contact bigfoot to have themselves taken off the SPAM list...

Come on Comcast get real!!

Re: Forwarding from Bigfoot

Well, I sent an email to bigfoot last night. No response yet.

I'm hearing from others that a lot of forwarded mail is getting bounced, from known services (hotmail, yahoo) and private domains.

Any chance Comcast might pay attention to this on their own?

Re: Forwarding from Bigfoot

Why blame comcast for something that Bigfoot subscribers are responsible for? Obviously some folks are using Bigfoot to spam. If Bigfoot cares about it they will take care of those spammers. Contact Bigfoot and raise a ruckus!

Re: Forwarding from Bigfoot

Karen, are you listening?

From help@bigfoot.com:

"""
"Your ISP, comcast.net/attbi.com , is currently blocking incoming mail from Bigfoot's mail servers, which is why you are not receiving email that is forwarded through your Bigfoot account.

"We are communicating with them to find a solution to this problem. May we encourage you to bring this matter to the attention of comcast.net/attbi.com. Together, working on both ends, we may be able to more quickly get results."
"""

At least Bigfoot answered my help request; Comcast is just ignoring it.

Rather than use their pinhead brains to address the problem, they've decided to block entire domains (pobox, bigfoot, etc.) and make it someone else's problem. Ours, that is.

What, are we paying Comcast's bills for NOT receiving our e-mail?

Why was this not a problem all the time we had attbi.com? How come it only becomes blocked suddenly when Comcast takes over? Maybe a telephone company DOES know something more about data transmission and customer support that a Cable TV company does, eh?

Get some help if you need it, you lazy stooges, but let our e-mail go!

The ruckus belongs right here, BluesDaddy: Bigfoot forwarding was working just fine, for years even, until ComCrap took over.

Spam Filters for Bigfoot have been removed. All Bigfoot to Comcast activity should now be working.

Thanks for your patients & contributions to the Comcast Forum.

Bigfoot forwarding breakthrough!
Posted: Jul 3, 2003 5:51 PM

I just got a couple round-trip test messages, to two different bigfoot.com addresses both forwarded back to my comcast.net account, transited successfully in less than a minute.

No sign of all the previous messages, tests by me and unreceived messages reported sent to me by others; apparently they went to e-mail he11.

Thank you, Comcast. Keep up the good work. We're pretty touchy out here after losing our correspondence, but maybe if you don't make any more big mistakes we can all get along.

Re: Forwarding from Bigfoot

Just so I can make a plug here, I too have been using a Bigfoot email address for the better part of 10 years. Thank you for resolving this problem Comcast. It just came to my attention today that I was having email kicked back.
