Yes I have tried that and no it does not work

Apparently the trouble ticket or complaint on this thread instigated action on the Comcast admins side. Now working as it should with no action on my part.
So... kudos to whomever fixed this! ![]()

I had this same problem since April 18th 2012, Comcast when Comcast switched out my Arris Router. After many phone calls, and hours of dealing with this problem. They finally listened to me and installed a different router. Guess what I can access my email it only took 50days. Finally I got someone to listen to ME and he had a new router installed,

Great that some folks are now able to access their email. I cannot. Is CCCarole a Comcast person.
? If so, how about offering an explanation. Do you really think there's a fix the end user can implement? It certainly doesn't sound to be so for anyone posting here. A fee reduction for the interrupted service doesn't solve the problem. VERY BAD CUSTOMER RELATIONS. Perhaps we all should pay our Comcast bills to an email having the same issue. I bet Comcast would get on it pretty quickly if it blocked getting paid!

After being able to access email from the browser for a while, it's now not working in Firefox again. On computer doesn't let me open visible email by simply going into a loop and kicking me back out to the main email page again. The other computer goes into the ever-popular infinitely spinning symbol when I try to open an email.
It is "openable" via Chrome, but it's a pain to have to bring up a second browser to do so.
And, yes, I've tried all of the "recommended" fixes to no avail. The system will work again for me when it's ready, and not as a result of anything I've been doing.
Working frantically to finish setting up a new system with an email client so I can reliably get to my email, but, of course, can't check out spam filter to see if anything valid has been filtered, or access email when away from home without web access.
Why can't Comcast get this up and running reliably? I dumped my AT&T email accounts when they transferred management of them to Yahoo mail because of the lousy service and access, but they absolutely *shine* compared to this. May have to go back to them for my primary email accounts .. at least they can reliably be accessed via web when I'm away from my computer at home.
Requested info:
Do you use XfinityConnect? The Full or Lite version? Full. Lite sometimes works but lacks access to spam filtering functionality.
Do you use an email client? Which one? (Eg; Windows Live mail, Outlook, a smartphone etc.) Outlook Express and cellphone both work. Can't delete emails from cellphone email client, though.
Which browser/version do you use? And- have you cleared your browser cache? Firefox (which isn't working lately) and Chrome (which does access). Yes, caches cleared.
Which operating system? XP, Vista, Windows 7, Mac OS X? Windows XP
Details of the problem you are having. See above

I know this issue has been going on far too long already.
So far it has not been resolved for all users, but has for some.
If you need to access your email messages, you can use www.m.comcast.net. While it is a very, very basic email, at leaast you can read your email there. It can be used away rom home, of course as well.
At this point I don't blame you for setting up a real email client to use at least until this issue is fixed by Comcast. One thing you may not know though, Outlook EXPRESS is no longer being supported at all by Microsft... That means no more Updates of any kind, including security updates. If yuou also have OUTLOOK, use it. If not, you might want to consider setting up Windows Live mail. You can download it and install it. Other choices could be Thunderbird, Gmail, etc.

This problem has been going on for over a month. As of 6/27/2012, I still can not get into my inbox from my laptop.
06-28-2012 12:45 AM
I still can't get into mine either. I think they really blew this one. My guess is that whatever software update they updated our email with somehow didn't work with several of the operating systems. I always just go back to my Apple, where I can access Xfinity through comcast.net just fine. It's ok...I really don't like PCs anyway...
06-28-2012 01:08 PM
Yes, I have been experiencing the problem since May 9, 2012. Comcast support has been no help and creating a new email id is not a option. Changing a browser has worked but I don't think that is a solution. It is just a work around. A real solution to the issue would be nice
06-28-2012 02:42 PM
I completely agree. They need to send out a patch to fix the problem.

So just what I should have done in the first place, stick with Comast.

did you get it resolved, i have it now.
07-04-2012 08:45 AM
No. I still can get into comcast email on the MAC but not the lap top. It has now been over a month and it is a pain in the @## trying to do work, email docs, etc.

I am having the same problem as everyone else. It syarted yesterday when i installed a new ARRIS Modem with the router in it. I can get to the preview page, but can't view my emils or check voicemails, nothing works. I can't even do my banking, which i could do before the new modem. the strangest thing is i can check it from other computers in my house. After 4 hours yesterday and 3 hours today, it still has not been resolved. First the wireless was inactive on the Arris internal router, which comcast could not fix, not until I agreed to pay five dollars a month for wireless service. Seems like a SCAM to me. Now i can't access my emails. when fios comes, I think alot of customers will jump ship.

Email works using Outlook on an XP box, but the web interface does not work on a Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit laptop. Sometimes I can get to the summary page but not the entire box or any message. The problem is moveable. When it first appeared attempts to start email opened a duplicate tab. Then a tab with the summary page but clicking a message opened a blank tab.
Tonight clicking the emai icon on the xfinity.comcast.net just reloads xfinity.comcast.net

I have just set up a Windows 7 Ultimate machine and am trying to get access to my email on Comcast. I keep getting an error message stating that Windows Live can't find the smtp server. I was logged in and receiving messages.
07-07-2012 11:19 PM
I had the same problem. I solved my problem by disabling all my most recent add-ons and accelerators
from the manage add-ons menu under the tools tab.I disabled all the not verified add-ons. I also cleared my browsing history.
07-08-2012 03:44 PM
Thank you. I will give that a try.
07-09-2012 03:17 PM
Get rid of the Arris that's what worked ofr me. Comcast would not believe it but I kept on call the Corporate number in PA
07-09-2012 10:12 PM
Finally, after hours of phone calls, one Comcast tech rep actually admitted that the Arris Gateway modem is causing the problem. They are working with Arris to correct the problem. How can a company hand out equipment they know is going to give the customer a problem.

I just typed in m.comcast.net in my browser and went right there. The url showing when I got there is: http://m.comcast.net/m/

same issue here. comcast email is worthless, use something else
07-16-2012 12:29 PM
Last night m.comcast.net did work. However the normal email pages still will not display. Each attempt to reach the email page opens another tab with the xfinity page, except that the number of unopened emails is now displayed on the email log in icon.
Win7, Home Premium, 64 bit.
Perhaps unreleated I can no longer use the laptap as a remote. That item on the profile setup now displays a blank box.
So no email and though I don't need it, no channel changing via the laptop.
What Comcast ought to do, in fairness is rebate at least some of the monthly charge.
07-16-2012 02:41 PM
I cannot open any emails. I only get the list of emails on the preview page and cannot get into them. Cannot compose or anything. I cannot get any help from comcast. No way to get a hold of them. Help!
m.comcast.net just gave me a list of the emails. Still could not open them. ![]()

Same 'ole, same 'ole. And Comcast fails to even acknowlege there's an issue here. They're all brain-dead.
It's been MONTHS now... and all I get from tech "support" is the runaround. They're just playing dumb because if you don't admit there's a problem, you might avert having to compensate your customers for lack of services. I have no doubt that their attorneys are screaming.... "DON'T SAY ANYTHING!!!!"
I can access my email at Comcast through my Kindle Fire, and did that for a little while... thinking the "experts" would soon get this figured out. Silly me. The upper echelon, Comcast, managerial, brain-donors are too busy trying to cover their "assets".
I gave up and am working on my own bail-out plan. Via my Kindle Fire, I accessed my Comcast email Preferences.... and have forwarded ALL incoming email to my Google 'gmail' account. So I get everything in my gmail account that originally arrived in Comcast.
I'm also switching to a local DSL service. Sure, it's a bit slower, but I'd rather have slower RELIABILITY than fast NON-SERVICE by brain-donors.
07-17-2012 06:24 PM
Did I sign in? What a stupid question. You are talking to someone that has used Comcast internet for many years. I know how to use it. You don't need any info about my computer. You need to fix the problem! Can't you tell by all these posts that there is a problem on the Comcast end? DUH!
07-17-2012 06:27 PM
I'll be switching service too. I pay way to much to be treated like this.
07-20-2012 05:53 PM
Update. I now can access email from my Win7 IE9 64 bit laptop. The process took three telephone calls, an email exchange and two hours of my time. Did Comcast fix it? I don't know. They did something and I did something. The second level tech was not exactly open about what she did other than changing the password on the master account.
I decided to try adding *.comcast.net to the Trusted Site list. Security is at the "Medium" default.
This was the path to the "cure".First level phone support said that this was not a known issue, and suggested--
clearing the cache
reinstalling IE
using another browser.
He agreed to open a ticket and today a very nice person called to say the problem was fixed, because she had no problem accessing my account. The first line rep misstated the problem on the ticket and nothing was fixed. This tech advised me to--
clear the cache or
switch to another browser, because the email application was not fully compatible with IE9 .
Then she asked me to email screen captures of the new tab that opened after log in. I laughed and asked her how as I could not get into email. But that was a problem I could deal with. I asked her if she wanted the entire page because I didn't know that Ctrl-PrnScrn would capture everything. She told me, that it would. Of course it took four captures to bag the entire page and eventually I sent them in.
Then I decided to see whether any IE settings might be the involved and tried the obvious--Trusted Sites.
It might work for you. If not get a stick with feathers on the end and chant or dance. If nothing works, complain and ask for compensation. They do have some goodies to placate the angry customer.
07-21-2012 12:26 AM
I have had this problem since I got Comcast last month. I get "Sorry, we are unable to load your email and voicemail. Please try refreshing your browser in a few minutes." This happens in IE9, Firefox, Chrome and Opera. I have cleared the caches and reset the browsers to default and the problem is not resolved. I do not have the router others referred to in this thread. I have a Zoom.
When I logged into my account today I received a pop-up message from Comcast indicating that they need an alternate email address because they are unable to send email to my Comcast email address! I entered my gmail address as my alternate contact and immediately received a confirmation email in my gmail account.
I attempted your suggestions. When I configured Comcast email with Outlook 2007 I get errors on the test message. I am using the information from this link: http://customer.comcast.com/help-and-support/inter
I finally resorted to creating a secondary user. Guess what. The secondary user works. The first user does not. So I have to strongly suspect that it has nothing to do with a browser and everything to do with the DNS issue mentioned earlier in the thread.
07-23-2012 01:16 PM
Whether or not the browser is part of the problem now, the base problem is that CCast reworked the web email interface to create problems for those who use IE or at least some versions of IE. Telling customers to change to a different browser is (fill in your own adjective or expletive) boneheaded. They broke it and they should fix it.
I tried to avoid any ranting about the issue, and having done some programming, I have empathy for the problems of developing applications for a diverse environment. But, it is possible to create complex applications that run on any of the recent versions of IE and in both 32 and 64 bit versions of the OS.
Comcast is doing a fine job of trying to ignore the issue, even though many customers are complaining. An honest company that truly valued customers would acknowledge the issue, accept responsibility, and provide equitable relief.
Those of us who pay for comcast as a portal and email service provider are entitled to receive that service. Comcast takes the position that if we have some of that service for a substantial part of a month we must pay for all of that service for all of that month.
My email was fixed by magic, but I urge each of you with a similar problem to give CC a chance to fix it and then start asking politely but firmly for a rebate of the charges for the month.
07-23-2012 06:44 PM
I contacted customer support at this site.
http://www.comcast.com/Corporate/Customers/RickGCu
I was called shortly after that and they fixed my email. Something to do with passwords.

I have been having this problem on my small laptop for 7 weeks. I can get to the Preview Inbox but cannot view the entire box or view an individual email. That annoying little dotted circle just keeps spinning. I have IE9 on this new laptop but IE8 on my older laptop. I have no problem on my IE8 laptop. Working with Comcast is a very frustrating experience. Does anyone know if IE9 is the problem? And, is Comcast working on a solution if it is the problem?
07-23-2012 10:46 PM
I still have the same problem. I have a partitioned computer, so I go to the Apple side to pick up my emails as the email doesn't work on the PC side. I've tried things that others have suggested, and nothing has worked yet. It's frustrating particularly because it worked for a long time. I don't know what Comcast did, but I certainly hadn't changed anything. It's definitely a Comcast problem or this situation would have arisen before. Argh...
03-28-2013 02:47 AM
Im also been having the same issue but when I switched my browser to google, the email starting working fine. Try switching to google chrome or firefox. Something within the IE update release could have been making the Comcast script buggy.
05-12-2013 05:15 PM
Seems the issue has been fixed for some but not for me! I have to wait hours for my mail. Been having the same issue for 5 days. It's getting on my last nerve!

Please provide some details:
Had you using the Full or the Lite version of XfinityConnect?
Open XfinityConnect, click on Preferences, and then click on General. A window will open showing you which version is checked.
Which browser/version are you using?
Have you tried a different browser?
Please post back with those answers.
