I am unable to find a setting that instructs the XFINITY Connect <groan> option that I want to go directly to my inbox upon logging in and not to the "Inbox Preview" or any other landing point.

It can't be done as a security measure comcast will send you to the inbox preview first.

Thank you. I am, however, skeptical that a security concern is behind the absence of this option. I suspect it has more to do with forcing users to visit an addional page with advertising.

Thanks. I have sent my feedback, though I feel it's about as worthwhile as sending feedback to facebook.![]()

There is currently no setting in Xfinity Connect to bypass the Preview page. You can use the mobile version of web mail, but it doesn't have a lot of features
Try: m.comcast.net

I pretty much have figured out that there is no setting to bypass the preview page. This is a design oversight that causes real world users extra steps, and I have provided my feedback to Comcast (for what that's worth). It does seem that the preview page is unpopular. Also, I want to gag when Comcast anything is called xfinity.

Right now there is no way to go straight to the Comcast inbox. You can, however, completely bypass the preview page by using an email client program like Windows Live Mail or Mozilla Thunderbird, etc.
I use Thunderbird.

Thanks for the suggestion, but the whole point of using the Comcast web interface for mail is so there will be no need to use a client software and deal with its attendant issues of configuration, updates, local storage, bugs and security flaws (I haven't used an email client in over seven years). The Comcast inbox is acceptably functional (if not speedy), but the preview page is an unnecessary step that slows down the process and adds no value. Even yahoo mail allows a user to choose to land directly in the inbox.

I understand all that. My point is that you should NEVER rely entirely on your ISP's email account for any messages you find really, really important. Not Comcast or anyone else. There are a number of reasons for this, but most important is that if you ever decide to dump Comcast for another service provider, any emails you have on their servers will be gone for good unless you backed them up using a client program. Another is that if you have read around in these email threads enough, you will find that Comcast webmail is no shining star in the reliability department. They have more than their fair share of problems with emails disappearing, addresses being blocked and so on.
But hey---there is nothing wrong with using strictly web-based email accounts as long as you are willing to take the attendant risks. Or if you don't care about keeping any important emails. I use a Yahoo account as my primary email address-----BUT-------I use Thunderbird to download my messages to my computer. I also have an external hard drive that I use for a back-up. So no matter what my ISP (Comcast) or Yahoo may or may not do, my stuff is going to be available.
Just saying

Why? Why the EXTRA step to get to our Inbox? We don't want, need, or waste time with the extra step. It may not seem like much (the extra step) but the "Inbox Preview" is something that we don't find helpful. Isn't there a way to by-pass it? I went on the Chat Line and was told no by a very helpful lady.

And she was right. You can't bypass it unless you use a client mail program like Thunderbird, Eudora, Windows Live Mail or Outlook etc. But I can see some logic in the Preview page-----you can look at Voicemail, email and Calendar all at once to see if there's anything waiting for you. I only use the email, and not much at that. But I suppose it makes sense for those who use two or three of the services.
It would have been nice though if they had an opt-out button if you didn't want to use it.

I'm SURE someone at Comcast can program that choice.

That's all I've ever wanted.

It has been over a year now since this thread started... I see that some people have suggested other locations to post feedback to comcast on this subject. Does anyone think comcast reads any feedback with the intent of improving the "Customer Experience" as they call it.
This kind of feedback gets read by a $7.25 dollar, an hour flunky who has been told, "...and where else can we run ads, and replace the revenue we get from the "preview page"" if we allow most people to skip it... When you read some feedback that is really important, be sure and bring it up!
The App for LastPass on the Ipad lets you go right to the inbox, but comcast has discovered that, and now they run a pop-up ad for their own Ipad app, covering most of the greyed out inbox. As experienced comcast users might guess, there is no option to say, "No thanks, and don't ask me again." You just have to say no, each time you go to your inbox, but you can skip the preview.
I am hoping that readers of this, will remember this "comcast attitude" when we have a chance to really give them the feedback they deserve, in terms they can understand... Dollars
I find it hard to believe that they really think, most of us are going to be fooled by the brandname change to Xfinity... in fact for me, it just confirms the deceptive culture that is inbred in the organization.
