No longer able to send or receive email from my outlook 2003 after changing my outbound mail server port to
465 and incoming server to 995.
You need to enable SSL on both ports, and on port 465 you need to enable authentication (NOT Secure Password Authentication). If that doesn't fix things, post the complete error messages you're getting.

Thanks for your suggestion. Still no luck. Getting this Mail comcast.net receiving error message:
"Receiving reported error (0x800408FC)
I doubt that that's the *complete* error message, but I also doubt that it would matter if you posted the complete error message. MS email clients, especially Outlook, are quirky. I have no idea what the problem is, and I've done a bit of Googling on that error code. Nobody seems to really know what that error code indicates. You could try Googling on that error code and seeing if any of the stuff you find makes sense to you. It could be that there is a simple fix, but separating the wheat from the chaff seems daunting to me. I'd recommend just using a different email client.
