Are you having this issue on your mobile phone/mobile device or computer?

Re: Outgoing E-mail

I'm having this trouble from my desktop.  We have 2 computers on a router.  Reset the modem and the router.  One computer is using Mozilla Firefox, the other is using Google Chrome.  We aren't using an external email server...we are using the Comcast email site.

Can you send a test email to yourself?  Do you have any signatures in the emails?  Have you made any updates to any filter settings?

Re: Outgoing E-mail

I am having problems with setting up my Outlook. I have input the User Information (Email Address), Server Information (Account type: POP3, Incoming Mail Server: pop.gmail.com, Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.gmail.com), User Name and Password. When I click "Test Account Settings" the logon incoming mail server (POP) completes but the "Send Test Email Message" errors out and give the message "Send test e-mail message: The operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP)." Can you help reslove this?

Do you mean to be using a gmail account? If so, why are you asking about this in the Comcast help forum?

Check that you are using the correct outgoing port, SSL, and authentication required by smtp.gmail.com.

If you intended to use the Comcast settings, try:

incoming settings

server: mail.comcast.net

port: 995

use SSL: checked

authentication: password

outgoing settings

server: smtp.comcast.net

port: 465 or 587   (NOT 25 and not the default that may roll to 25; )

use SSL: checked

authentication: password
