Outlook Connectivity Issue

Wednesday, 6/27/12, I stopped receiving e-mails on a machine using Outlook 2003.  I am now getting error code 0x800408FC.  No settings were changed and no other software was installed/configured.  I have double-checked settings from the Comcast site and they match.  The "Test Account Settings" works properly with no errors - the test message is received by an iPhone accessing the account, but the Outlook 2003 machine never received the test message.  An Outlook 2010 machine is accessing Comcast e-mail without errors.  Any ideas???

Outlook 2003

Incoming Server = mail.comcast.net, Port 995 (SSL checked)

Outgoing Server = smtp.comcast.net, Port 587 (SSL checked)

Thanks.

Re: Outlook Connectivity Issue

I have been experiencing the exact same issue with Outlook 2003 on Windows XP.  My email settings are the same as listed.

It started last month and the problem only occurs when my computer is connected to the Internet via Verizon Wireless 4G.  When I'm connected to wires and WiFi networks, the problem doesn't seem to occur.

Note that VZW 4G (LTE) only uses IPv6. It is not an option to turn IPv6 off which is recommended in other threads.

Is this actively being researched by Comcast or is it viewed as a problem with Windows XP/Outlook 2003?
