2 months ago I sent an email out and now I need to retrieve this for litigation purposes but my sent email box no longer shows any sent messages. How do I retrieve this email?

Are you using Xfinity Connect (web mail)?
If you have the default message retention preferences, the sent e-mails are likely gone forever. I think the default is somewhere between 7 and 30 days retention for sent messages.
I have no idea when the retention preferences went live, but the defaults were very poorly chosen if they didn't plan on telling anyone about them.

Regretably, the messages are probably irretrievable.
I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one who was surprised (infuriated) by the rention policy change.

Have you checked your retention schedules in your Preferences? What are they set at? You are supposed to be able to set them to Never delete in there for Inbox, Sent and Draft folders. LowRanger is having some kind of problem in his area with deletions, and I don't know if it affects you or not. But check those settings first.

Changing the settings now isn't going to recover a message that already fell off the edge of a Flat Earth. ![]()
My problem isn't so much with the retention settings as how (apparently randomly) and when (without prior notice) they were implemented. I use a conventional e-mail client so I'm not suffering as a result of the new policy but it is abundantly clear that many are up a creek in not being able to review e-mails that were expired.

I am trying to retrive email I sent for litigation purposes from last year, how can I retrieve them.

If you don't see them, they are probably irretrievable.
I'd call or chat with support to see if you can get a definitive answer. You'll probably want to get the answer in writing.
Long term, you should probably create a custom folder for important messages since they seem to be safer from Comcast's retention shredder.
