Sending Email - Forced to Go Thru Address Book - PLS Help! TY =)

I am brand new to Comcast Xfinity email and I want to be able to type one email message but send it to several people on my address book and I cant figure out how to do it. Also in order to send to one recipient, I have to go to the address book, and email the person by clicking on the "email" option beneath his/her name.

When I do the following (see below*) my address books pops up, but none of of my contacts are listed, and even if I use the search function on the popped up address book, still no addys show up. Please help! Because I'm new to this system, step-by-step directions are highly preferable. Thank you!

-----------

Following directions copied from another thread dated back to 2010*:

Open the Compose window.  Where you see the word TO- Click on it.  that will open your address book.  Click on the address of the person you want to send the email to and then click on TO on the right side.  Do this for all the people you want to send the email message to.  After you have added all the people, click on OK.  This will take you back to the Compose window again.  Click on Send.

A little advice for you: Instead of using the TO, I would highly recommend that you follow the exact same steps, but after clicking on the person's email address and clicking on TO, I would click on Bcc instead.

That way, none of the people you are sending the email to will be the to seeeach other's email address when you send it.  Always a good thing!

Re: Sending Email - Forced to Go Thru Address Book - PLS Help! TY =)

First, regarding unable to access the address book by cloicking on the TO field in the compose window.  Plaxo.com needs to do a slow sync on your Username)s).  Send them an email to: helpme@plaxo.com  In the SUBJECT line type in "Need slow sync done on address book". List the usernames in the body of your email too.  Placx is the divison that handles the Universal address book.

The directions you posted should work after the slow sync is done.

And- You are 100% correct about using the Bcc field instead of the To field when sending the same email to multiple contacts.  That also happens to be one of my pet peeves as well (Showing people I don't know my email address)

Hello

I would like to help you solve issue's with Address Book. Could you advise if you are using the Full version or html lite of Xfinity Connect web email? You can check this in Preferences Tab under General.

It sounds like you want to setup email groups in your address book which will allow you to type the "Group Name" in the To: field when composing a new email and send to several email recipients at once. Is this correct?

To set this up, you will need to click on Address Book Tab in Xfinity Connect webmail, on left side of reading pane, click on "New Group".

Thank you, CCCarole. I just now sent the request. (Whew! I've been busy)

I hope this does the trick.

Thank you!

CC_XC:  No, I do not want to create groups. CCCarole did in fact understand my question. Thank you also for your reply.

Many blessings,

What happens when you click on TO in the compose window?  Can you see all your contacts when you click on the address book tab?  Which version of XfinityConnect are you using, full or lite?  To check:  click on Prefereneces > General.  Which box is ticked?
