Are you using Internet explorer as your browser? If so, which you probably are... Do this:
Click on the word Tools at the top of the page
Next click on the words Internet Options
At the top of this new window that opens you will see the words 'Homepage' and you MAY see www.comcast.net OR www.comcast.com . You want it to only show www.comcast.net, so go ahead and type that in.
Now go down to the bottom of that window and click on Apply and OK.
Now whenever you click on the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop, it will take you right to the www.comcast.net homepage.
www.comcast.com is used more for things like shopping for new services or learning about the different services in internet, TV and phone that Comcast offers.
To get to your e-mail:
When you are on the homepage and have signed in, click on the E-Mail iconor word e-mail and you can get right to your Inbox. The sign in and e-mail icon is on the very far right side of the homepage, at the top. You may have to scroll over to see it. This is what it looks like:

AND_ click on this link to see an easier way to get to your mail or compose an e-mail: Clickable link

Look on the upper right side of the page and click Make XFINITY Your Homepage.
Confirm that you do want it to be the homepage.

In the address bar at the top of the page, type in http://xfinity.comcast.net/ and click Enter.
You will be taken to the Xfinity homepage. If you want to make the Xfinity (Comcast) your homepage, click on the blue link on the far right side of the page which says, MAKE XFINITY MY HOMEPAGE.
