I am trying to autofoward my comcast email to my gmail account. My comcast email is already sent to the Outlook on my computer at home, but I want it to be sent to my gmail now so i can access it while off at college. When I follow the steps that xfinity says (preferences>email>fowarding) I always get a messege that says:
Server Error
I would like help to know what is wrong and how to fid it.

Do you maybe have Outlook set up to Remove the messages from the Xfinity Inbox after downloading to Outlook? Check the Advanced settings in Outlook. Post back please.

I don't think so, usuaally the emails sent to comcast end up on Outlook. Occasionally they will show up both on Outlook and online when I log into comcast.
I checked the advanced settings and all I could find was that I could add/remove an account. nothing much else, I only have outlook 2007

Why are you giving him the Comcast settings for Comcast? He's having the problem when he tries to forwarding his mail, not when he tries to download it to Outlook.
However, this raises the question: why do you need to forward the mail just because you're going to college? Aren't you going to bring your computer to college? You can access your Comcast mail from there exactly as you do now, you don't need to switch to gmail.
Regarding the problem you're having setting up forwarding, exactly when do this happen? When you click on "Forwarding", it should expand into a box that says:
Email Forwarding allows you to automatically send all of your incoming email messages to a different email address. Visit Comcast Customer Central to update email forwarding preference.
Do you see this? If not, do you have Javascript disabled on your browser? The preferences page uses Javascript to expand each of the preferences into the details that you can edit.

You can set up forwarding on the Account Managment Users & Settings page: https://customer.comcast.com/Secure/Users.aspx

When I try to forward my email under "User and Preferences", the only choices I get are:
Change password or secret question | Edit personal information
There is no feature to forward email.
When I got to the "Check email" option, there is a feature called "Features", then "Email". There is a post there that says you can auto forward. When I click on "Edit" for Forwarding, I get the message:
Email Forwarding allows you to automatically send all of your incoming email messages to a different email address. Visit My Accoutn to update email forwarding preference..
If you click on the My Account hyperlink, it takes me back to where I started, which only gives me the options to change password or secret question/Edit personal information.
We need it because we cannot get our Comcast email to work in Outlook on our Mac, so we want to forward to a gmail account that does work.
Appreciate any suggestions.
