Easy Solve

Just got the email announcing the availibility of Easy Solve. Sure glad I took a look at the forum feedback before I took any action. I'm no tech guy but the chatter seems to advise against this service. Glad you guys put out your comments. Thanks.

Re: Easy Solve

Easy Solve has been a lifesaver for me. I took computer in college for A+ certification 17 years ago. I have a desktop and 2 laptops, they all have Easy Solve on them. Internet gets a little slow, I just run Easy Solve. Perfecto! Easier than manually cleaning out your computer and I truly believe Easy Solve does a better job. By the way, I build my own computers and I also repair systems for others. I'm no expert but, I think you should give Easy Solve a fair chance. If you don't like the program, just remove it thru your Control panel and that's that!! I don't work for Comcast, I'm just a customer like you. Merry Christmas!!

Radman, I did give it a chance. In my review I stated

"I participated in the trial for Easy Solve and was not impressed. Neither was anyone else who participated in it."

I picked it apart during the trial period. I pointed out things that were buggy-some of them were fixed before the release to the public.

If you like it, keep it and use it. It's basically a glorified cache cleaner. There are other programs which do the same thing. I use ATF Cleaner. Best thing about it: nothing to install. Just click the .exe file and it opens. I can use ATF Cleaner in less time than it takes Easy Solve to open, then signing in, then waiting for the sign in process to complete, then waiting on the scan to finish. Even if I don't sign in to Easy Solve ATF Cleaner is quicker.

Easy Solve will ALWAYS tell you that your cache needs to be cleared. That's because it drops an item into history every time you sign in. A program that drops something into your history and then tells you to clear it is far from a perfect program.

Also from my review:

"One thing I encountered was being told to clear the cache-AFTER I did an experiment. I cleared my cache. I then ran Easy Solve. I was told the just cleared cache needed to be deleted, so I did some searching and found a history item. When you sign in to Easy Solve it is added to the history. So even if you clear your cache, which includes history before running it, you will ALWAYS be told the cache needs to be cleared. This item is an EASY SOLVE ITEM that gets added to history."

Easy Solves states it can help with connection problems. It does no such thing. All it does is tell you check your cables and reset the modem and call Comcast if that does not work. It certainly won't fix anything if Comcast has a problem and the internet is down.

I do need to update my review, at least the images in it. The interface has changed but nothing else has.

As for uninstalling it, I used Revo Uninstaller/Advanced option and used it to delete leftover files and folders. After that I used Everything Search and found more files and folders which I manually deleted.

I did put it back on my computer after it was released. I use it for testing purposes only.

Re: Easy Solve

Thank you for your input. Got my computer at age 70 two years ago and still have much to learn. I research the forums and sites relevant to my questions and generally follow the lead of the experts. So far, I haven't experienced the problems that Easy Solve is supposed to cure but I am always open to alternate methods and opinions and appreciate the generosity of forum members such as yourself. Merry Christmas.
