Can a fax machine be used with the phone service? If yes, must the fax machine be located and plugged into the Comcast phone modem?

The phone cord on the fax can be plugged into any active phone jack in the home that is connected to the Comcast eMTA telephony modem.

If you don't have your inside phone wiring connected to the eMTA, then the fax will need to be plugged into the L1/L2 jack on the eMTA just like the phone cord.
